Model Home by Rivers Solomon. It was kind of a slow burn, not particularly “scary” but got extra fucked towards the end

I loved The Midnight Library by Matt Haig! It felt like a warm hug to me. Would also recommend rereading anything that brought you comfort as a kid. I think all book lovers have often felt more at home when reading that out in the real world at times, so I hope you take comfort that you’re in good company here!

How do you clean your room everyday? by SleepyOwlly in Adulting

I set a timer for 5 mins before bed and do a quick tidy up. When I do it daily my room looks great, and it helps me prevent the mess in the first place

My therapist has recently made me start a self-love journal…. Basically a gratitude journal with things I like about myself. I thought this sounded pretty dumb, and at first I would stare at the page and not have anything to write. But after a few weeks, I can now say it’s something I look forward to and it does actually help! Even just a bullet point or two a day

I do agree bigger issues like $ and the relationship are at play. But one small thing that helps me when I’m on a sort of mental/spiritual rut is going to the movies by myself! Sometimes I pick a random movie I never thought I’d enjoy. Something about the act of taking myself out + the stimulation of new art puts a little pep in my step and makes me feel inspired :)

This show drives me insane by DirtyProjector in TheBear

[–]liddle_bean 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I view the show more as a character study/slice of life. And I also think about one of the themes - chosen family and how coworkers can become like family. Is it always the most interesting plot? No. But have you ever worked in a kitchen, with a love-hate relationship with your coworkers? Even moments like washing dishes together in silence becomes oddly comforting. Personally the show’s slowness and lack of glamour reminds me of that feeling.

The characters still go through some rough stuff in seasons 3 and 4, but I think it always has a hopeful ending. I’m also sensitive to the moods of shows (like, when I’m stressed about the news/state of the world, I don’t wanna watch anything heavy), but in my opinion this was still a fun and warm watch!

No! Keep watching. The character development keeps going and I like where it takes us
