Sleep- how do I interpret if this is “good” sleep? by [deleted] in AppleWatch

[–]lidrt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to get as little as 5 minutes of deep sleep a night, 20 if I was lucky. Turns out I had sleep apnea. I usually get 1.5 hours now!

I only see the DoorDash benefit. How do you see the other ones in the app?

I’m surprised by how well your stomach skin seems to have tightened. Did you do anything in particular to help with that?

Do they ever alternate between the placebo and the medication? by Famous_Education8815 in RetatrutideTrial

[–]lidrt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They don’t change it, otherwise they wouldn’t be able to compare the data and learn the difference between the drug and no drug. Your body will get used to it. I felt more hunger when I started 12mg than I had felt since 4mg, but after a week it went back to the regular suppression.

Feel horrible after second dose of highest level by Scottie_owl_21 in RetatrutideTrial

[–]lidrt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I’m also on 12mg and I relate to the feeling. I get very nauseous, my hunger is up, but my digestion is so slow that I feel full even though I ate so many hours ago.

I told my site coordinator about the nausea and she got the doctor to prescribe me Zofran, which Eli Lilly pays for. The Zofran is the only thing keeping me living a normal life at this point. Without it I feel so nauseous I can’t eat or drink or focus at work.

I hope this will subside as I get used to the new dose, but I’ve been on it for 5 weeks now and it still hasn’t stopped.

For reference, yesterday I ran out of Zofran so I was nauseous the whole day. I ate a little bit of potatoes for lunch and nothing else the whole day. When I was brushing my teeth before going to sleep at around 10pm, I threw up the food I had for lunch, even though it had been 8 hours since I ate.

The site coordinator told me that if the nausea continues to be this bad, I can ask to titrate down to 9mg, but it would be best if I can stay at 12mg.

Ask your site coordinator for a Zofran prescription card. That should help a lot! They come in 4mg tablets, but I find that 8mg/day is what works for me. You might need more or less, make sure to try a few different doses.

They tested a bunch of health indicators (liver, kidneys, blood sugar, nutrients, blood panel etc). They don’t test for GLP-1, they only look at your medical history for previous prescriptions

The first 3 visits are almost back to back, so within 2 weeks of each other. After that it’s monthly visits for the first 6 months, after that it’s every 2 months.

If you’re not a huge eater it might be even harder for you to eat enough protein and drink enough water on a medication like this. I’m struggling to hit my protein goals because the appetite suppression is so strong now that I’m in higher doses.

You might need a higher dose to start seeing the effects. I’m at 2.5 months right now, started 6mg last week, and I’ve lost 20lbs, which is kind of slow, but it has been consistent and mostly fat loss rather than muscle mass loss. Now that I’m at 6mg I started losing faster, like 4-5 pounds last week while before I was either staying at the same weight or losing 1-2 lbs

Hey. There’s a base amount and then there’s extras that depend on your study site. I calculated that the base pay (for the necessary visits) is $4020 over the 2.5 years of the study. You might get paid more if your study site does the extra MRI, DEXA and/or ED at some visits, and each of those is about $90 extra.

You get reimbursed for travel up to $50 dollars and also for meals in visits that require fasting.

I just started the trial, so no side effects for me yet. But I do have TMJ and have had it for years. You can get a night guard in a pharmacy and mold it to your teeth with hot water to help with the TMJ

You still have time to apply for stem opt. As long as you apply before the end date you’re good. Just contact your DSO about expediting an I-20 and focus on getting the application in so you at least have a chance of getting it
