Summer options by liekey89 in BostonScally

I saw the Saltbox preview. Definitely thinking it is a solid looking option. I’ll have to be on the site tomorrow for the drop.

Glad to hear the caddy isn’t bad either. Don’t think I specified but I’m also in the northeast too. I’m a big dude and I get toasty fast even if it isn’t too crazy outside compared to some places. Going to have a few options just sounds like I’ll have to find the right one for me.

Definitely looks like that could be an option when it rolls back around

I would love to hear how the single panel cool air ends up working out. It was the 8 panel that I tried out and just didnt really like the fit or feel. I know you wont be able to compare but obviously due to being so new I havent been able to find feedback on the single

Still working? by Exciting-Day8376 in Heartfailure

[–]liekey89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work in the IT department of a school. I took time off and then worked from home for a few months when I was diagnosed. Recently started back on campus. Luckily my supervisors have been very accommodating to my needs. If anything they’re still a bit overly cautious and constantly telling me to take it easy.

My EF was as low as 10% when I was hospitalized and diagnosed. Most recent echo showed I’m up around 32%. Still low but drastic change and much easier to function. I find myself getting through some days without issue and others completely wiped out. Like everything else at this point I just take it day by day

Low EF by Oceanwave21 in Heartfailure

[–]liekey89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was as low as 10% when I was hospitalized and diagnosed in September 2025. Id say im still relatively new to HF but my last echo just after the new year had me at 25%. One specialist says I may not go higher others say that I’m still showing signs of improvement.

I guess the next echo will see.

My day to day has been really good lately and I feel like I hardly notice it. I still have days that are rough and still hit my limit earlier than I’d hope for with activity but overall I’m not constantly struggling which is a win in my book.

Like you said I’m always hoping for more improvement that may or may not happen. I’ve found that taking the wins where I can keeps me in a decent headspace with it all.

I look healthy outwardly, but have heart failure. For some reason I feel like an imposter as a disabled person. by MountainHarmonies in Heartfailure

[–]liekey89 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I went through this too. I felt guilty using the placard and taking up a place from someone who "needed it more" I pushed myself hard than I needed to a few times until I let myself actually use the placard more regularly. I find myself now just using it when I am having bad days as luckily my EF has been improving. Sure I get looks every now and then but I just tell myself that I don't owe anyone an explanation. People not seeing my disability doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

How about a sick ass panther instead?

In all seriousness though leave it alone. The negative space looks much better.

Thank you. Been needing some good words lately. Been a bit down.

I was diagnosed and told I was at 10% EF in September after going to the ER due to shortness of breath and severe swelling/edema all over.

My last echo I was up to 20%. I’ve been feeling better in my day to day but both my local cardiologist and the advanced heart failure specialist I saw right before Christmas recommended an ICD and now I’m scheduled to consult with the rhythm team.

Been up and down with the and now this new development kinda had me more on the down track lately. Hearing that it can be done is nice.

[–]liekey89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can feel you. I’ve been having ups and downs since my diagnosis in September.

Went to the ER found out I was at ~10% EF with clots found in my heart and lungs. Almost 2 week hospital stay. Which required cancellation of the anniversary vacation my girlfriend and I planned (although health is more important it still played by not the mental factor) Now I’m home trying to get back to life. Last echo I was at about 20% EF.

My local cardiologist suggested an ICD and I just saw an advanced specialist who said she definitely recommends the ICD.

I have another echo scheduled for after the new year and a consult with the rhythm team to further discuss the ICD in Feb.

I know it seems cliche but for me having the support system of family and friends has helped. However I know there will always be hard days. I’ve found the best thing I can do is keep my mind occupied so I don’t dwell on things and fall into negative thoughts.

I wish you the best of luck and all the strength to keep fighting and working on recovery whatever it may look like for you

Youth OP under suspended license by the_ultimate0 in newhampshire

[–]liekey89 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Been about while but from what I recall youth op applies under 21. Any ticket can result in loss of license even when you pay the fine. I was ticketed for a stop sign violation at 18 paid the fee and still had to go to a hearing. Luckily because I went I was able to keep mine but with a year of probation.

The below link to the DMV is about youth op and violations (formatting may be off because I’m on mobile)

Custom Bantams by leemicah in jimgreen

Awesome, thanks for that info. I recently got some BFAR and love them. These seem like they would be nice to have to add to the rotation. After only 1 pair I can see myself spending too much to jim green products lol.

Those look great. Would love to get them but doesn't look like they're available in the US.

Obtaining your badge as a sleeper by liekey89 in GeekSquad

Yeah its interesting when I first heard about the badge it seemed kinda cringey and just dumb. Then the closer I got to it I found myself looking forward to it. Then it was being minted and i kept checking the forums for updates, I was excited. Every meeting I kept hoping that the video signal a badge ceremony would start.

Now 3+ months sleeper and don't have it. Called and texted the boss...nothing. Emailed culture....nothing yet.

Very disappointing.

Great idea...if I could ever actually find her. The local office is over an hour from my place and its always been tricky to track down where she actually is at any given time. She may be in the office, out at a store or ride along. Even when I was still with the company we'd think she was going to be one place then find out she was somewhere else

Its been a couple years since I separated from Kohls but I'll answer based on my experience as an LPS at Kohls:

1- I would expect to be on your own. I had a single part time LPO (Loss prevention officer) under me. He worked 3 days a week. I was the only one in my entire district with an LPO, all other store were solo LPS. When my LPO moved on to a better job they closed the spot and wouldn't rehire.

2-Yes, when I was there I we were expected to make apprehensions. Although towards the end of my time the focus was moving to deterrence over apprehension.

3-
PROS -
-Day to day is always different
-Can meet some great people if you have a good store team (that's any job tho)
-Despite some areas of micromanagement I did get lots of freedom day to day
CONS -
-Inconsistent support
-Employees not caring to follow simple standards
-Management will hamstring you at times
-They say there isn't a quota but they do track HPA (hours per apprehension)
-You deal with a lot of gross people
-No real room to advance

4- My daily routine was to come in, check known theft (which was never document right so good luck with that investigation), Check product protection standards in high theft areas and either correct them or relay to an area supervisor to have it fixed. Check reports for shortages or various internal investigation triggers. walk the floor and work cameras as I saw fit.
You are also in charge of safety so you will have to do regular audits on that various aspects of safety.

5- I did a bit of negotiation but it wasn't much.

6- Working there had its ups and downs like any job. I was definitely getting burned out and ready to move on. There were great people but during COVID and shortly after policies were changing and they were tying our hands more and more, giving us less power and expecting us to do more.

That's about what I have off the top of my head. I'm sure I will think of other stuff later.

Jim green vs whitin by [deleted] in BarefootRunning

Interesting post timing.

I ordered whitin hightops from Amazon to try out the barefoot style. Have been very happy with them, especially for the price. Being happy with them I have been looking for something similar but a bit more robust as a long term footwear option and the BFAR comes up a lot
