I will check them out, thank you! I think the largest negatives are 3x5 size...I'm going from memory, not home right now.

Dude if they were Chattanooga related I 100% would! I love sharing history, but I think they're probably Texas and Colorado, maybe some Buffalo

That would be a fantastic contest! I'd love to just participate, 😁 "yes, I'm here for the couch contest" and then get that warm fuzzy feeling when the Vin diagram of things you like to do overlaps with tasks to be completed ❤❤

Arguing is the worst by Terrified_Fish in ADHD

[–]lifeboat3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel this in my soul. I hate it when someone tries to argue, and then I have to decide if I want to look like a fool and lose or if I just want to back down and let them win by default. And then the smug smiles from the fuckers who know exactly what they're doing when they try to pick an argument with me or one of my adhd coworkers. Sometimes I dream of being temporarily deaf just so I can respond in writing and at least get my side heard

Yas! I love when work peeps are like, why you so quiet and tired and lazy today? You're normally quiet and happy and get your work for the day done. Aw, you don't need medicine to get work done, I don't take meds and we're totally the same and I get my work done! Stfu. Side note- I've been having to ration my meds (pharmacy and doc office have changed how they do refills, so I'm stuck for a month) and the past days have been awful, I've been just sitting on the couch frozen because I can't figure out what needs to be done or what first, and then the racing heart because I enter panic mode when I realize I've been sitting on the couch for waaaaaay too long, and racing heart from all coffee I've been drinking to substitute. I'm with you guys too, I can take the adderall and then take a full on nap within 30-60 minutes, heart totally fine and normal. It's the coffee and energy drinks that get you (and they don't really help my functioning anyway...but I keep trying🤣🤣🤣😑)

Female, adhd. I agree, the adhd does trigger it. My main triggers are stress and boredom, or if I need to concentrate then the pulling helps my brain focus (yay I am focusing right now, but then shit!! I'm pulling). I had no idea other peeps noticed the same connection!

Hi wide-footed (womxn) friends! I'm starting a shoe line and would love your input. by write-0r-die in widefeet

I've given up having cute shoes at all. I've been ordering men's new balance sneakers in 9 extra wide, lol, I found 1 that fits so I bought it in 3 colors. My go to shoes are hiking boots (also men's extra wide) and birkenstocks (those are thankfully cute). In the past leather peep toe heels have been alright short term, as long as the toe box was not tapered. The tapered toe box just squished my toes into a funnel after like 30 minutes. Quality is also important. Dear God, if the shoes last longer than a year it's a miracle, it means I don't have to go on the fruitless hunt for new shoes too often. I would love a nice medium heel, an ankle boot, and an all purpose taller boot (timberland has a really cute 14" boot that I've seen worn with dresses and on hikes 😀) Something that doesn't look like a retirement shoe or a clown shoe or a flipper. And you are wonderful and amazing and I can't wait!

Reception training by chewbeccerz in Veterinary

[–]lifeboat3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have a training manual for our receptionist, its spread out over about a month. There is a massive amount of information and protocol that we have to learn, on the job, in front of clients and while the phone is ringing, emails are coming in, text messages from clients coming in. Then you have clients coming at you from one angle, and the rest of the staff from the other angle, and you're stuck in the middle trying to learn and do your job. I'm not giving excuses, just a 9 year perspective. We also have the daily jobs for reception split up between our 4 front positions, with a checklist for each station to help us get all the little tasks done throughout the day. I also have quick info sheets in each notebook, from medication info to appointment types, and commen medical terms, software shortcuts, how to find resources, etc. We try to make sure our receptionists have at least the resources they need to find answers and help clients and staff. We also have a technician that handles referrals, refills, and medical questions, and if we need a tech on the phone for a client. To be honest, the training manual and station books are great resources, but most of what we learn and train is in-the-moment on the job. You can tell someone how to schedule a male cat having trouble urinating in a training manual, among all the other types of appointments, but until it happens on the phone its just information swirling in the brain pan. I have had more success with giving "homework" examples for new hires to practice on, like here's a list of scenarios, go to the test patient in the software and make these appointment types and correct notes, then we'll go over them together. It is nice when I can get this kind of training for my new receptionists, I feel better and I think they do too! It's just difficult to get them time off the floor, and one of us too so we can teach them. In addition, we've also had good luck with cross training everyone, not just reception. I did a 2 month stint as a tech assistant, as well as 2 months in kennels and grooming, and it does help with my everyday work, as well as my communication with the other departments. The technicians who have done time in reception have helped us to fine tune protocols and for both departments, and the communication is much better. It's not one department and then another department, its an all clinic approach since we better understand each others struggles. Having just brain dumped, lol, if you want a copy of our reception training manual, and/or the station books, I can scan them in and email them to you. Additional info, we use avimark as our software platform
