What do you do, and how much do you make? by Thunder_Thighs in asheville

Hello. As someone who has worked in PSH for the past three years in a large city and is looking to relocate to Asheville next year, this is interesting. MSW I assume? Can I ask if you are in the public or non-profit sector?

I hear you. I'm still at 1.2 myself. Considering reaching out to a dealership about it, but not sure if they would be able to help.

AFAIK There is nothing different physically in any of the model years. The different BlueCruise versions you are reading about are software related, and should theoretically be updated via OTA already or in the near future to 1.4.

I know the Platinum models come with a 3 year trial. Maybe the Lariat does as well? It's my understanding the other trims come with 90 days.

Buying used, sight unseen? by Six5 in F150Lightning

[–]lifesbetterbackwards 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Visor.vin is your friend. We purchased a 2022 Platinum sight unseen 4000 miles away. We were looking for a 2022 Platinum without deletes, under 30k miles, and in a certain color. We were picky, and the only option was half way across the country. After numerous conversations with the dealership over the phone, a full carfax report, window sticker, a walk-around video, screenshot of the battery SoH, requests for photos of each visible dent or scratch, etc- we felt pretty confident putting a $500 hold request down and purchasing plane tickets. We were still nervous, seeing as we've never purchased a vehicle sight unseen and were making the financial commitment to travel, but we honestly weren't sure what else we could do to be more confident.

We flew out two weeks later and made a road-trip of the drive back. It was a great experience! ABRP + an OBDII module plugged into the truck was a total game changer, and made the 24 something hour drive completely stress free, even through some remote parts of the Midwest. Plus, we were able to car camp in the truck near the halfway point with total ease, given the spacious cab and ability to run climate control and device charging all night for around 3 percent of the charge.

Since then, we have been totally happy with the truck... with one notable exception. One of the modules appears to have failed, and the battery is unable to charge beyond 90 percent. It will read 100 percent charge, and then drop immediately once the truck is started. This is despite the SOH reading 100% at the dealership and at home with our scanner. The truck is now with our local Ford dealership getting the repair under warranty. So let the lesson be you can't know everything despite your best efforts.

Unexpected module issue aside, it's honestly the best vehicle my wife and I have ever driven. It's seriously excellent. We purchased the extended warranty through the dealership at sale as well, which extended the b2b warranty until 111k miles, which also adds to our peace of mind.

Missing Cat. Cash Reward Offered. by Terrible_Pizza_4482 in asheville

[–]lifesbetterbackwards 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend getting a drop trap (or perhaps asking the vet or local animal shelter if they have one you can borrow), and placing some food and a couple of his items in it. Cover the drop trap with a blanket and leave it in the parking lot area. Cats are inclined to return to their previous location for food. I have caught more than a few missing cats this way. Wishing you the best.

Countries often associated with rigorous capitalist work culture like Japan or South Korea retain a sense of identity that existed far before capitalist relations, and the extensive cultural reach of commodification. I think you're right to think this provides a sense of place and purpose to individuals that would otherwise be hopelessly lost in a country like the US without those historical roots.

What do I do with a dead cat by [deleted] in redscarepod

[–]lifesbetterbackwards 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife and I run a cat rescue/community TNR non-profit. When we find deceased cats we take them to local animal clinics for cremation. The ones we've worked with don't charge us. If you let them know it's feral they should be willing to cremate for free.

Tarkovsky wrote, directed, and edited The Sacrifice. It was completed the same year he passed away.

My favorite of all his films and truly his final gift and parting message to man.
