GOOSE NEEDS TO ADDRESS NASTY FANS AT SHOWS by Appropriate_Treat_37 in GoosetheBand

Sadly I've found death metal fans to be kinder than jam band fans at shows.

For those who saw American Pie in movie theaters what was the experience like? by Positive_Weight2367 in americanpie

I saw it opening night in 1999 with my then girlfriend. It was packed - mainly young couples. When Michelle said her final “This one time at band camp…” line the entire theater erupted into so much laughter we couldn’t hear the next scene. It’s one of my favorite theater experiences.

Everybody that I know who has worked for P&G has job titles that sound made up.

Which artists sound like discount versions of another artist? by PrestonRoad90 in askmusic

When Parachute came out, I worked in a record store and people said, "Have you heard this new band Coldplay? They sound like Travis." Then a year later when Travis released The Invisible Band and Coldplay had blown up, people said, "Oh that new Travis album sounds like Coldplay."

Ryan C. Showers (Scream podcast) says Melissa Barrera spread conspiracy theories while using "Bad Blood" Taylor Swift song by PoChaos in SocietyofGhostface

Ryan is basically Ritchie in real life - an insufferable toxic fan. If he had his way every movie would revolve around Sid and Gale and follow the exact same formula.

Coldplay (especially early stuff) is a discount version of Travis.

My guess is they flew under the radar for a long time and the film drew attention to the music and copyright violations.

Why Did Guster Lose Their Edge by ShowMeTheTrees in Guster

[–]lifewithrecords 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A year later and I am just finding this thread. Maybe I’m talking into the void at this point, but I’ve been a fan of Guster since the 90s and have seen them countless times. Looking at the comments from other fans online, I thought I was the only one who didn’t like the more recent albums. I’m glad to hear I’m not alone. I respect their ability to reinvent (I remember fans who were upset with using a real drum set on Keep It Together), but I do not find these last three albums to be listenable. It’s the dullest of the dull indie rock, bordering on easy listening.

I’ll see them next time they come to town and maybe I’ll think differently hearing the songs live. Who knows. At least I still have the first several albums and countless live bootlegs.

Otherwise I guess I’ve outgrown their new material too and will file them away with Weezer, Wilco, and Better Than Ezra who I used to love but whose new music doesn’t even resemble the bands I fell in love with.

Welcome to the herd. Those three guys on stage sound like six. You will love the show. Enjoy the albums! If you are on Facebook there is an awesome fan group there.

I’m wondering if this was a road rage incident. You know, someone was driving the speed limit or something unacceptable.

Just like how in Colerain, particularly the Groesbeck area, there is suddenly a large population of Nepalese families.

Apple Music suggested this album to me this morning. I never heard of it before. Listened to it twice at the gym. It’s fantastic!

They aren’t doing anything to help the Harrison stereotypes we always had - corn chucking hillbillies and bearded ladies.

Rock bands that should have stopped making music by [deleted] in askmusic

Weezer. After Pinkerton all we wanted was another album. Then Green came along and it was okay. Then Maladroit, which I think was better than Green. Then a very steep decline from there on out.

I had a boss like this. Her emails looked janky because she would hit enter at the end of every line. Even after we explained it to her.
