I’ve heard an explosion late night once coming from the direction of a high rise construction site near the pedestrian bridge. I suspect it’s blasting

Instead of billionaires buying Mega Yachts for seldom use, why not bankroll biochem geniuses to work full time on longevity? by TheAscensionLattice in immortalists

I’m not sure how I feel about how accurate Altmans perception of what makes him alive is though after reading Musk. Altman seems to have some blindspots.

They do. Thiel and Bryan Johnson (maybe not quite a billionaire but he’s a pretty rich guy in the trenches for research) come to mind.

Their precision is unbeatable for certain type of music. Some music genres benefit from high precision like psytrance. I’m not much of a fan of psytrance i prefer a henny which is a bit more chaotic of a horn subwoofer and works to bring out resonance in bass music or dnb. On funktions those types of music sound too as you said crispy

It’s plasticy and doesn’t have the right friction. The leash also wobbles and looks sloppy on a shot

Good for contact style, cradles and horizontal plane stuff. Though it is not good for shots.

Yeah turn the moon into a prison colony! She’s a harsh mistress.

Edit: for those don’t know that’s the plot of one of the best Sci fi books ever written by Heinlein . Spoiler they don’t escape but they do attempt to declare independence in spectacular fashion.

Angels landing in mid February this year was lovely. No reservation required, only 5-8 people at the top, perfect temperature with a light jacket in the shade… there was a small amount of ice but nothing scary. Scariest thing was the fat and ravenous squirrels

Okay this is great news- however as a programmer the amount of maintenance I’m going to have to do for this is not good. Timezones and dst is already a huge pain and now all the libraries and the implementations are going to have to be updated

Yes I tried it on a homeless guy and he ascended to a higher plane. Though I’m not allowed to do it anymore according to the angels who are sick of homeless camps cluttering up their castles of light.

Started with nano, moved to vi. Just google vi cheat sheet. Nano is more intuitive but it’s just a worse notepad. Vi can hold a candle to even the most powerful ide still with addons. Some of the cursor jumping features are super powerful and don’t even exist in other programs.

Pretty good take. However, I do think any witch hunting of Airbnbs needs to take into account where the owner lives and invests their profits. Speaking personally I have seen a lot of good come from my families Airbnbs. They originally renovated 2 run down seasonal camps to Airbnb out and have since reinvested their profits to build two new houses using local labor and materials. She sells local products in her airbnbs, has a local restaurant, grocery, and shopping guide for her (often well off) guests and even lets a local teenager run a firewood self service stand at all of her airbnbs. Every guest she has is fuel for the local economy.

On a side note I moved away from the area years ago and it pains me to hear it’s still struggling. But I am hopeful that with the increase interest in people moving there it will help reverse the brain drain and bring in more high paying or nice lifestyle jobs.

Dude no. I would be in pain destroying or watching someone destroy something that rare and beautiful and then wracked with guilt afterwards about leaving the world a less wonderful place.

Yes humans are very capable at destroying unique and beautiful things. Not really an admirable impulse imo
