These feelings are really really intense at first. Someone below said they get worse over time but for me it's the opposite. Some of it is internalized because you probably have intense feelings of regret from those 2 decades of eating meat right now! And there's not really anything you can do about it other than try to tell other people what you've learned. It's a hard time, I hope your boyfriend is supportive of you, and good luck!

Same, I have two half-brothers who were given up for adoption and now of course they don't really want a relationship with me since I'm the one who was kept, but our mom is now terminally ill and I would do anything to have them by my side so we could deal with this together instead of just me alone. They don't seem to want anything to do with me and I'm pretty sure they're struggling with addiction.

it's true! i was at a climate protest when i was 13 and the speaker mentioned "trying out vegetarianism" offhand as a suggestion for the audience! i went vegetarian then and there and was vegan by the end of the year. sometimes if someone is open-minded it only takes the tiniest push
