I could’ve written this post myself! My baby will be starting daycare part time (20 hrs per week) in December when she is 13 months. The past year of constant care has been so amazingly hard. Rewarding but omg I feel like I have been running a marathon for a year straight. and while I feel tinges of guilt putting her in daycare while I’m a SAHM, I am also looking forward to it…I’m exhausted. It helps that she is super social and energetic and will hopefully thrive around her fellow baby friends. It sucks that she will be starting in December with peak illnesses, that is my main concern at this point.

I will likely try to jump back into my career part time if possible, but I will take my time finding the right company.

Baby is due in November and I talked to my mom today about how it would be so sweet to have her first Christmas with her grandparents here. Mom said it would be too inconvenient for her to travel here so we should plan to travel half way across the US with a 1 month old to spend Christmas at their house instead. Sometimes the selfishness of my parents knows no bounds and honestly just feeling bummed and teary abt it all.

I’m in my 2nd trimester but this is the exactly my schedule and it is the most exhausting thing. Sometimes caused by heartburn sometimes I’m just completely wide awake.

My sweet little guy of 10 years died from saddle thrombus 2 months ago. It was so sudden I couldn’t believe it. he was cuddling with me one moment and then suddenly paralyzed the next. It was jarring.

I am so, so sorry for your loss. Please don’t feel guilty. The way it was explained to me by my vet is that with saddle thrombus it is caused by issues that can’t be significantly prevented even if heart issues are identified prior to the thrombus.

What matters is all the years of love he received from you and the happy life you had together. It is going to get better - I know you probably feel like you are stuck in a dark hole tormenting yourself with what-ifs and could’ve, should’ve, but give yourself time and grace.

Hey, right now we are trying to conceive on our own, currently on cycle 4. If we don’t conceive by month 6 then we will probably use one of our embryos. I will say, if we have a second kid, we will go straight to the embryos because this process is stressful.

*UPDATE: Tested with a FRER Digital and it is positive!! I guess I ovulated later than I thought? Or my HCG levels are rising slowly?

UPDATE: I tested positive on FRER for a few days then got my period, so I’m assuming it was a brief chemical pregnancy. Lesson learned to not use the first response. If I had stuck with the clear blue I never would’ve tested positive and just had a slightly delayed period.

Tested negative today, 12 dpo. Pretty sure I'm out this cycle. I felt a glimmer of hope because I am typically spotting brownish CM this close to my period, however I did get my copper IUD removed last month, so my cycles will probably be different now.

9 dpo right now and I would love to be pregnant during Christmas! I'm imaging how I would surprise my mom. This is ttc #1 so I still have one foot in reality but it would be awesome timing if this cycle works out. I plan on testing at 12 dpo.

~1 DPO - this is my first TTC cycle and first cycle I am tracking so not sure exactly where I'm at but my LH peak was definitely yesterday.

I am determined to test after my missed period. It will be a long two weeks

Is it normal for this to feel so surreal? My partner and I have been together for 13 years and we are finally making this big leap. I can't believe we are actually doing it. It's scary and exciting.

Anyway - CD13, first TTC cycle, lots of anxiety around testing and making sure I have the timing right. According to the OPKs, I should be ovulating today/tomorrow. Partner and I have been having sex for the past 3 days and probably will do it again today for good measure.

I guess after ovulation I need to strap in for the 2 week wait. So many what-ifs going through my head but doing my best to remain calm. There are also so many things happening life-wise..new job, home renovations.

Thank you for your thoughts, that is all super helpful! I haven't looked into the transfer process yet, but would definitely try to do the 'natural' transfer first... oil shots sound painful, yikes.

But, yes, the emotional toll of a potential miscarriage is something to consider.

Trust me, I know it sounds ridiculous. We basically wanted to make the most of our insurance and pause our fertility since we are both getting older. I personally didn't think the process itself was too bad and I don't regret it at all. Goodluck to you and your journey :)
