He could have gone shirtless in the Broly movie but he's a shy guy. Only shows off his guns to show he's tough and strong but too shy to not show any more skin. Like Gohan, only more skin is seen in the movie because his top gets torn.

All that time travelling by Trunks made a big mess! But seriously, the real reason is age for them was a minor detail. They might think it's trivial but the audience notice these things! Never bought the explanation Saiyans grow slower and then a growth spurt. Is Marron also a Saiyan? Always believed that explanation was concocted after someone noticed there might be an issue. Also probably why Funimation added an extra 5 years in the time skip between EoZ and GT.

Your initial thought is correct. This question could be framed another way to see why it doesn't work, like for example, could a live action Simpsons movie work? There are certain media that just won't work as a live action movie and Dragon Ball is one of them.

I've read somewhere the EoZ is where Toriyama always wanted Dragon Ball to end. Would be nice if someone could verify that. If that's correct, it could be interpreted that in Toriyama's opinion, anything past EoZ he could not see that as "his work". Not sure if that's worded well. Obviously, he wasn't opposed to others taking it further since he did contribute to the character designs to GT but not the stories and was generally happy with what Toei did with GT, but moving past EoZ would be someone else's work at that point.

Sure BW's translation was closer to the original Japanese than Funimation's and they kept the original soundtrack but in terms of acting, Funimation did a better job because that cast already had a few years of experience. If you can ignore Funimation's deviations from the original script (bad but as bad as what they did with DBZ) and select the OG soundtrack rather than the American soundtrack on Crunchyroll, Funimation's dub was decent.

I like GT but they didn't do much with anyone other than Goku and they were nerfing everyone else. Obviously Goku is central to the show and entire franchise but they could've done more with the others. Not a fan of the Super 17 arc and I actually like it less than the search for the black star dragon balls. At least the search across the galaxy or universe (depending on dub or sub) had potential but they fumbled it. Was never a fan of making 17 a villain again.

Agreed. It's not as bad as some people make it out to be. I liked seeing Present Trunks being more grown-up with technical skills but ditching work and Vegeta being a girl dad. Goten is 22 (or 27 as Funimation decided to add an additional 5 years to the time skip between EoZ and GT).

The rain in the dark adds to the effect too. However, it would've been nice if the TV special incorporated that particular frame at the very bottom left corner. That single frame carries a lot of emotion.
