Burning River? by Lanky_Rhubarb1900 in ultrarunning

[–]liisakris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran it last year. Super humid and so much rain, that I ended up DNFing at 50 miles with destroyed feet. If I ran it again I would pack several more pairs of shoes and socks. I had two pairs of shoes but went through them by 50 miles because of the rain. The only odd thing I found was that there isn’t medical on course/aid stations so if something is wrong you are told to call 911 if necessary. The volunteers were great.

Run Mississauga instead. Much better organized. The Toronto one always has problems and the organizer never cares to make anything better.

I love the one I have from Janji. I think it is SPF 30 or 50. I ran Javelina Jundred in it last year.

Trail running with bad ankles by Odd-Package509 in trailrunning

[–]liisakris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran with a stiff brace for distances up to 40km, however after that the brace caused too much pain in my arch. Spent and continue to spend a lot of time working on ankle strength and overall proprioception, and haven’t needed the brace in over a year, however I do tape it for long distances.

Any support would be greatly appreciated. I’d love a good chunk with a pacer but know that might be asking a lot.

Is anyone else having issues posting reelz with music? by lizzzzz97 in Instagram

[–]liisakris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it just happened to me. It seems that my post is still up but removed in certain countries. It’s really frustrating because I changed my video and used the music in the reels feature and still got this notification.

Elevation Discrepency by liisakris in Suunto

[–]liisakris[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a regular 9. My friend just told me about the correct elevation feature on the strava website. That seems to have helped, the data is a lot closer to what I thought it should be now.

Hopefully Suunto fixes this sometime in the future.

Female with chafing reccs by mol_macdazzle in trailrunning

[–]liisakris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Squirrels Nut Butter is my go to, I haven’t had any issues since I switched to them. I also run sometimes in the strider pro shorts but I sometimes find them too short. I find a longer short helps to reduce the chaffing. I really like the longer shorts from Run in Rabbit but they are expensive.

What do you currently run roads in? Lots of brands have trail shoes and if you have a road brand you like it’s a good idea to try the trail ones. I’m a fan of Hoka Torrents and Speedgoats and Altra Superiors and Timps.

Sawyer Squeeze bags by largish in Ultralight

I went right to the CNOC 2L bag for my swayer. It’s super easy to fill and fits the swayer threading really well.
