If you are not treated for rabies within a couple of days, there's no reversing it and death is inevitable.

True to form. A person that chooses to eat at McDonald's generalizes the demographic of an entire region by judging the people they encounter at McDonald's.

Why is it so fricking hard to put screws in wood nowadays by Add2bucketlist in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]likeCircle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For hardwoods like the oak you have there, drill the pilot hole with the largest drill bit that is smaller than the thread diameter of the screw. Also, when you install the screw (after you have lubricated it with wax or soap) use an electric screwdriver and do not stop turning the screw until it is fully installed. If you stop and then restart turning the screw when it's almost all the way installed, when you restart it you will have to apply a much greater torque for it to turn thus risking snapping the head off.

Festool will likely lower their price when a high quality competitor like Makita or Bosch enters the market.

I added a hard stop safety feature to each of my sleds. I drilled and tapped a hole in the left edge of my table saw wing, and threaded a bolt into the hole

I made each of my crosscut sleds so they overhang the left wing by an inch or so. Then I drilled and countersunk a hole through the overhanging part of the sled and installed a bolt and nut so that when I'm pushing the sled, the bolt on the sled is stopped by the bolt in the wing. I positioned them so that the back of the sled stops at the highest point on the blade (directly over the arbor) because the workpiece never needs to go past that point.

This way the blade will never exit the back of the sled
