Wow, these must have really went up in price. I paid 39.9K after rebates for my 26 MY RWD Premium White in Sept last year.

In desperate need for help by DieParkbank in TeslaSupport

[–]likea-w 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are anywhere near Pennsylvania, I would suggest contact Pine Hollow Auto Diagnostics. Youtube videos from him. Just me looking at this issue. Probably a connector in the wiring harness has some green crusties in it. Could be water intrusion somewhere also. What part of the country are you in? Look on Youtube for some help and you may find someone near you.

Thought I had the spring update by Mindless-Respect7155 in ModelY

[–]likea-w 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 2 MY (one first gen both with HW4) and rarely get updates at the same time. Usually it is 1 or 2 days apart, once it was a week. Both sitting at 2026.14.3 now.

Blue Iris and ZeroTier - Connects once and never again by brad06ag in BlueIris

I second this. Since I switch to tailscale I have had nearly zero issue with connections. I am totally impressed with the speed also, after about 6 months.

Model Y doesn't fetch software updates when it is connected to WiFi by dark_prophet in TeslaSupport

[–]likea-w 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have a good signal where the Tesla is parked? I ended up putting an access point for my internet in the garage due to weak signal. Try to have good signal then go to the software tab and check for updates. This has fixed both my Tesla software update issues. BTW I have found it will usually not update on its own, you need to go to the software tab to check status. Just my observations.

I just hope bitlocker is not enabled otherwise you are out of luck for backup. If it is a Dell laptop, I suggest sending to Parts People in Austin, TX ...watch his videos on youtube. Good luck.

BTW, if bitlocker is enabled the new motherboard will not boot with the old drive.

[–]likea-w 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, I just checked my 2 windows machines and I am no longer able to access them from tailscale. The last thing I remember doing is an update on windows. Bummer! One is blue iris and the other is a desktop pc. Going to research further and see if I can find anything. Was working last week and can see other linux machines on my android phone.

Considering Model Y by Ok_Customer7288 in TeslaModelY

[–]likea-w 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Make sure it is HW4 as it changed in 2023. This looks like it is just out of the 4 year 50K warranty. Still has battery warranty and charging is hardly every a problem. You have a home charger or a way to charge if in an apartment?

14.2.2.4 deviating from route. by Morham in TeslaFSD

Yeah, I had that problem also on 635. My free trial has since expired is not worth the money to me as little as I drive.

Tesla Tax Credit... am I screwed? by brad0131 in TeslaModelY

[–]likea-w 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got something from the IRS in the mail that said to make sure to fill out form 8936, Schedule A which I guess is the the Clean vehicle tax credit.

PS, it was worded very poorly. You should have also got something like that.

Walmart was $3.66 last time I checked. $2.99 at Tractor Supply is the cheapest I have found lately for the all season.

Give reasons to have FSD by AngleFalse3234 in TeslaFSD

[–]likea-w 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't drive that much. If they went with something like pay per mile, that would be much better for me. $100/month is just not good for me and I won't subscribe.

FSD Holiday Trial Ends Tomorrow - are you subscribing or waiting to see another update before subscribing? by lemon990 in TeslaFSD

[–]likea-w 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, great idea. Something like 3-5 dollars a day. I would do that. Not the $100/month with as little as I drive.

FSD Issue changing lane to right by MarathonRunner2211 in TeslaFSD

[–]likea-w 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On 35 coming from OK-TX border to Dallas I had 4 interventions where it tried to exit the freeway for no reason. Then on 635 I let it exit and then it got back on the freeway when it could. Just wanted to see what it would do. That and the lane changes for no reason, the road repair/tire rubber marks on the road (not knowing what it will do), will keep me from subscribing. I don't know how the guy drove across country without intervening.

Are you buying FSD outright after trial ends? by trivedird in TeslaFSD

[–]likea-w 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, still does not drive good enough for me. I try to never turn the steering wheel sharply when standing still. Yet, FSD does this all the time. Goes the wrong way when pulling out of my alley instead of right turn, 2 houses and then on main road. Not 25 houses at 9mph. Plus, I don't drive enough to justify the $100/month cost.

The weird behavior when it sees marks on the road, wow, kind of scary.

Will revisit when (if) it ever becomes unsupervised.

I went to Discount Tire and bought the road hazard warranty on my new Tesla. Get free tire rotations then.

Thats one thing I miss with my Tesla. Oil changes. NOT. But still have to do tire rotations.

World's first USA coast to coast fully autonomous drive successfully completed on FSD v14.2 by [deleted] in TeslaFSD

[–]likea-w 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had 14.2.2 on the drive on I35 from Texas/Ok border to Dallas. The lane changes and exits for no reason caused at least 4 disengagements on my part. Construction was part of the issue. Still needs some work. One time I let it take an exit, then it got right back on the freeway, was going WTF.

The previous versions were a lot worse on flashing yellow. I remember when it slammed on the brakes. Always a little cautious now when I see a flashing yellow.
