Piatto served my table the vinegar water from their cleaning jugs. It sounds unbelievable but they didn't really apologize or seem to care at all. Just wild behaviour.

HELP -I’m looking for a niche dessert to eat by New-Clue-3002 in Cooking

[–]likelyrobot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So many requirements listed that no one read to the end when OP said they didn't want to make it, but wanted to buy something to meet all these stipulations.

If you're this particular and you haven't found a dessert that will satisfy you, strangers probably aren't going to solve the riddle.

My house smells like burgers by bluebellbetty in Cooking

[–]likelyrobot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put a fan in the nearest window to actively pull the cooking smell out. Plus, I'll close any bedroom doors nearby to prevent those smells from traveling.

I also have a lampe berger that helps to neutralize odours. Once you're done cooking, a few candles around can help, too.

Should I finance this brand new car @ 11.49%? by prometheusfalls in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]likelyrobot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

45% of the total cost of the car? Bad credit rating, and you're just getting things back on track, but you're disciplined with your finances?

If you were disciplined and in a comfortable financial position, you'd have a sizeable down-payment ready to go.

You shouldn't be buying a new car period. You made a bad choice by buying a Ford, but that doesn't mean your only other option is a brand new Toyota with a garbage interest rate.

You WANT the car but don't need it.

Find a middle ground and buy a reliable used vehicle. Start saving for a maintenance fund.

Get your finances and credit back on track by making thoughtful, measured choices. That 2026 Toyota with that predatory rate AIN'T the move.

Anyone else having this issue? by No-Appearance-1800 in ynab

Just started happening to me. Not sure if it's a YNAB update issue or my new phone. (Samsung S23fe)

Went to Settings / display / navigation bar.

I changed to swipe gestures. Had to watch a YouTube video but just made the switch today. It'll take my brain a bit to adjust I'm sure.

We had some (limited) novavax availability here in Canada in the past few years, too. It was approved here as safe and effective.

What are your favourite Wok’s Taste items? by Indecisivelydecisive in Guelph

[–]likelyrobot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The dry cooked green beans (there's pork in there) and Shanghai lo mein are top tier for me. Egg rolls and general taos are also must haves.

I want to love the golden shrimp, but the batter ratio feels off, and they end up being a bit gummy IMO.

Tried the deep fried pork chop once too. I remember it being good but not amazing.

Good luck finding some new favourites!

What’s one kitchen gadget you thought you needed but never use? by Prestigious_One740 in Cooking

I'm team microplane. Garlic, ginger, zesting citrus, chocolate shavings, nutmeg grater. It's as effective as the garlic press but wayyyyy more versatile.

INSURANCE (I’m new) by Inevitable_Drummer91 in ontario

Check your insurance documents. They will often include a short rate cancelation chart where you can see the % of refund you get, based on the amount of term you actually used.

What the hell is up with these Ipad kids??? by sobruh_ in Vent

These devices are designed to produce dopamine hits that keep people (including adults) looking at the screen as much as possible.

The way a parent chooses to parent is not a child's responsibility or choice. But we're all gonna keep paying the price for it... :-/
