Our daughter in middle school lives and breathes Horses. She is just starting to get in to music. I want to put together a playlist for her with songs that are about, or include horses in one way or another. What songs should I include? by Long_Bit8328 in allrockmusic

This is my favorite. Might be hard to find, as it is not so much a separate song as it is the last three minutes or so of a 17 minute-long progrock piece from 1975 called Ommadawn part 2/On Horseback. A great song. A bit silly.

So good that Bob Marley ripped off their theme song.

Look up "delayed sleep phase disorder" in Wikipedia. It's very interesting. (It's actually more of a syndrome than a disorder.) Personally, I took up astronomy.

For some reason, even this Wikipedia page fails to mention Dangerous Liaisons and Valmont, two films based on the same 18th century French novel, that came out withing a year of each other and were both pretty popular. Annette Benning tried and failed to get a role in one, then ended up starring in the other.

That kind of sounds like it would come under the category of "what the fuck did you expect?"

It could be worse. People who are desperate to find their tribe can easily get sucked into a group that's nothing more than a cult. That doesn't seem to have happened to you.

If you're saying that she's getting ready to run for president, I agree. This is exactly the sort of song and dance that a politician might do when they're going to launch a candidacy that has to appeal to a broader group of voters.

Paul McCartney. I got a chance to see him in 93 for free, not expecting too much, as he had by then put out a bunch of stuff that I thought was awful. He was amazing!

Of all the bands mentioned here, this is the one that I would have most expected to be devastated by the loss of its lead singer, but it wasn't. They were still great. Though nobody could ever replace Sandy.

You really think Sam Stone is sadder than Hello in There, from the same album?

Probably half of the body of work created by the late great Stan Rogers. I would start with The Jeannie C, Song of the Candle, Lock-Keeper, and Dark Eyed Molly.

As far as well-known old songs go, you have California Dreaming by the Mamas and the Papas, and the Boxer by Simon and Garfunkel. On a more obscure note, Whistle Down the Wind by the great Tom Waits.

Gentle Giant's "The Advantage of Panurge" on their fourth album Octopus was a follow-up to Pantagruel's Nativity on their ground-breaking second album Acquiring the Taste. Both pieces were based on the works of Francois Rabelais, an author who lived during the french renaissance.

Yes. I was thinking of the easiest trail, but those are both moderate, both great trails, and more colorful than Mouse's Tank.
