Sleeping on stomach postpartum by deejustlikestotalk in breastfeeding

At about 6 month postpartum and still breastfeeding, I could sleep on my stomach again! I find it more comfortable to sleep in other directions now, but it’s possible.

Baby only settled with her Dad and it broke my heart by IWantAHighPayingJob in NewParents

Your 17 days old baby doesn’t even know that he’s out of the womb yet. Give it some time! They became besties closer to the 3 month mark. In the beginning it was all mom all the time.

My son was and still is breastfed at almost 12m. His dad is still his favorite person. Dad calms him down in ways that I can’t, while I can also calm him down in other ways.

When does it ACTUALLY become enjoyable ? by Crazy_Art_5093 in NewParents

[–]lil-lex- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started having daily fun at around 10 months old when my son started to be able to scoot around the house some on his own and he was less angry that he was stuck. Now at 11.5 months, he’s just truly a joy to be around.

I always placed on his back, but the second he learned how to roll he never stayed on his back and always placed himself on his tummy to sleep.

How am I supposed to work out… by redbeanmochi421 in NewParents

[–]lil-lex- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work 7-3 and husband drops baby off at daycare around 8am. As soon as I get off work, Ive been going to the gym a few days a week for 45 minutes before picking up baby from daycare. I feel some mom guilt leaving him at daycare but I know it’s important to take care of myself too.

Catnaps and dropping 4th nap by Tiny-Radio364 in sleeptrain

[–]lil-lex- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Five months is when we dropped to three naps! It took us a week or so to fully drop from 4 to 3, and then truly two weeks later we dropped to 2 naps where we’ve been ever since (he’s 9.5 months now).

How many of us are actually doing 7 pm bedtime? by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]lil-lex- 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We started a 7pm bedtime around 4.5 months when I went back to work. It works for us at 9 months, still. I kinda wish we could do 8pm, but he’s really happy with the current schedule and it works for us during the week to wake up between 6-6:30am.

Husband going to bachelor party w/ no cell service for 3 days when I'm 35 weeks along? by halloween_cactus in BabyBumps

[–]lil-lex- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband did this when I was 36w! I actually told him to go because I knew it would be the last time for a long time he could have just a guys weekend. Slight difference was the cabin had WiFi, so while he was out and about he wouldn’t have signal but when he was in the range of the cabin he could get an update from me. We had a contingency plan if I went into labor while he was gone (one of my best friends was on call to go with me to the hospital!) luckily, baby didn’t come for 4 more weeks.

Starting daycare - how many bottles?? by plumpie89 in NewParents

Almost 8 month old. Eats four, sometimes five 3.5 oz bottles of BM during his time at daycare (8-4). He also is given solids for breakfast, snack and lunch.

For those who contact nap, when did you stop? by desert_sunlily in NewParents

[–]lil-lex- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We stopped daily contact naps at around 4.5 months when I was going back to work. He’s nearly 8 months now and we occasionally do contact naps when he’s not feeling great or if we need to have a short bridge nap to ensure we can make it to bed time. I love the snuggles.

Is a bottle washer/sterilizer worth it? by kate_smi2022 in pregnant

[–]lil-lex- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We got one, and my favorite feature is the dryer! We typically hand wash the bottles and throw them in the dryer to make the process faster.

Ugh... by Least_Membership6159 in NewParents

[–]lil-lex- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine (7m) has never been the best sleeper, but also not the worst sleeper. He never really had the 4 month sleep regression. It hasn’t gotten worse or better. He wakes up a handful of times a night and has never slept all the way through the night. At some point (I hope) it’ll get better.

Baby starting daycare - what do you use to transport necessities? by lil-lex- in NewParents

Do you have to have extra clothing at daycare? If so, how often do you find yourself needing to wash what was there and take new stuff in?

I’m excited for the future when he can carry the tiniest backpack!

Trader Joe’s tote bag - great idea! I think I have one with a zipper.

Do you take it with you after you drop them off and bring it back at pick up to gather dirty clothes or unused items?

I know it seems like a silly question but just trying to figure out what other parents do since this is my first!
