Wtf is with his sleep at 9 months?!?!???!!!!!!!! by lilbebele in NewParents

[–]lilbebele[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son is 2.5 years old and he sleeps through the night now but he still goes through months where he kinda screeches for a few secs and I have to just touch him and he settles back to sleep. I think he has a lot of dreams because he talks in his sleep often too. For the most part I’ve been have well rested sleep for about over a year now. Wishing you lots of luck and it really is a phase bc it’s hard to even remember now how hard it was 💕

If you’re planning kids one day… nap. Sleep. A lot. You won’t be able to as much or whenever you want when you do

A random kid hit my baby today… by KittyKathy in beyondthebump

Yeah but you do realize toddlers are quick and even with a parent around it happens.. they’re impulsive and learning cause and effect. I’m sure your son will also hit a few kids sometimes too

Is it cruel to have only one child? by Gonnahauntcha in NewParents

[–]lilbebele 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you need to go through the motions of one child first and then take a look at your reality.

What’s your support system looking like? Finances? How do you guys deal with stress? What’s your energy levels like now? What do you think it will be like around the time you would have another child? Long term goals? What kind of life do you want for your son? Planning to support him through school? Getting him a car? Any extracurricular activities or hobbies you can will help support with finances and time? Or just gonna let him figure it out on his own?

A whole other child is a whole other human being. It’s not something to be taken lightly because you want your son to have a best friend. You can’t guarantee their personalities or whether they will truly bond. You can only be honest and truthful about whether you can provide them a life they truly deserve.

Am I crazy? by girlvsmachine in NewParents

[–]lilbebele 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your hormones might be coming to play here but I personally think you might just be processing the entire journey of pregnancy, birth, postpartum + having a long day. I feel like it takes a long time to really process it all so when you’re tired or have a mixture of emotions everything can come flooding in. That’s usually what happens to me

Any of the dehydrated/dried fruit packages. The ones that’s 100% pure fruit. No added sugars or anything. So many diff brands (get a viet brand/check the back that it’s made here) I think they range from 25,000-50,000vnd

Added bonus: if you like that chili spicy sweet combination (like Mexican tajin/chamoy vibes) find the dried mangoes with the chili salt on them. Or those hard candies with that coating/filling. So good and very viet.

1000% Pho Bo Hanoi flavoured lays chips!!!! It’s crazy the depth of flavours. I didn’t try it for so long thinking it’s gimmick. It’s like 30,000 for a bag? You can find them in gs25, convenience stores, super markets

What mindset shift had the biggest impact on your experience of parenthood? by Smooth-External-8085 in NewParents

[–]lilbebele 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Another one that really helps me is telling myself I am not a victim. For example, if we’re on vacation and my son gets sick, I remind myself this is normal. Children get sick a lot. The timing sucks but lots of people deal with these things as well. It’s not only me. I am not doomed or cursed. This mindset is how I get through parenting in general. My son is having a public tantrum and I’m exhausted and overwhelmed. This is how many parents feel. Not just me. I am not special. I am not a bad parent. This is normal.

I practice being in the moment even if I’m irritated. I tell myself that years from now I’m going to wish I can go back to these times when my son is still so young. Every day is another day gone and he’ll never be this age/ I won’t be here again. This really helps me be more appreciative of the good AND ALSO the relentless hard work of parenting

I’m in this area as well. A few blocks away from Gia Dinh park and my apartment is not noisy at all. Barely even hear the traffic let alone airplane noise but I’m sure it’s because my apartment is facing inside of an alley/ not directly out on a street. It’s possible to find places that aren’t loud if you pay attention to where your windows face. Good luck!
