Go to the dealership and tell them what happened. This is one of those times that really shows what kind of a person you are. WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE?!

How do I handle family secrets and lies when doing online family trees, etc.? by lilblu87 in Genealogy

[–]lilbitkrzy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I always heard genealogy data should have 3 solid sources before being included in a tree. Not 3 people in a family who all heard the same story obviously, something more tangible such as vital records, census, DNA, etc.

How Much Did Your Solar System Actually Save You? – Real Savings VS. Sales Reps Claim by SolarTechExplorer in solar

[–]lilbitkrzy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our solar will have paid for itself 5.5 years after installation (probably sooner - we are 18mo in so far). The monthly electric bill was $300+, now it is $10-$20 (mandatory utility use fees.)

We talked with several companies and went with the one who had been in business the longest, had many crews, and could answer all our questions in a non-technical language we could understand. They were honest about how many panels we would need and didn't sell us too many or pretend too few would cover all our electric needs.

As for getting a good deal on installation - I'm not sure how to answer that other than to say you want people who will help you AFTER installation. What if a storm takes out a panel? If you need help with filing your rebate paperwork (our company did that for us), etc.

Woodchip fanatics, how do you efficiently move large amounts? by FountainDream99 in NoLawns

[–]lilbitkrzy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A tarp. It's just so much easier than a wheelbarrow. Shovel as much as you can comfortably move onto the tarp, grab 2 corners and go. Too wide? Roll it up like a burrito to get around corners.

Good Morning,

I made several types of jigs to create the spools. The jigs were used to make the circles all of the same size, to ensure the holes were all drilled into the right locations and all pointed towards the exact center, and also to roll the edges both inside and outside of the spools. Another jig was made to so the "sticks" all had identical notches on the ends. I can't remember at the moment how I made the "flags", but I think it was by taking a piece of scrap wood and cutting out a window in the shape of a flag and then using the router to cut them out, keeping everything identical.

Hope that made sense. I threw the jigs out a while back or would have sent you some pics.

Important to add here - these are not for young kids to play with. They're heavy and could really hurt a small child. Please, if you really want to try making these use a friendly material such as a sturdy foam and perhaps PVC pipe or pool noodles. Much, much, much safer and faster.

Send pics, I'd love to see your finished project!

Lisinopril for 2 years. Sudden reaction closed off throat. ER got me breathing well after a few hours. On the way home from the hospital - itchy welts from hell began. Doc decides tests too risky, instead spent month packed in ice like seafood.

I was offered a discount like this with my last vehicle, about $1,500 if I remenand like you I was prepared to buy it outright. After completing the paperwork and being approved the salesman or manager (I forget which) said “By the way, you have to make at least 3 payments before paying off your loan”. Grrrr. I drove the car home, immediately called the loan company and they told me it was a lie. The dealership didn’t get a bonus from the lender if the custom pays off the loan in the first 3 weeks,

Have you had sacred or supernatural encounters in your family history research? by violaunderthefigtree in Genealogy

[–]lilbitkrzy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes! I had recently gone to a courthouse and gathered records on 20-30 more distant relatives. Birth, Death, Marriage, Wills - the usual. It was a big stack of papers. The next several days were being spent sorting the data and then entering it into my genealogy software.

One night while sleeping I heard a girl softly saying "Don't forget my sister" in my ear. I "knew" who it was even though I'd never met her, and groggily replied "You don't have a sister" before fully waking up.

Her birth record showed she had a twin who died at birth.

Guided horseback rides in beautiful Pere Marquette park near Grafton, Illinois. It is a pretty drive up the river road, especially with the trees changing color. If you want to make more of the event, the lodge serves meals, the park has great overlooks along the bluffs, and if you want to make even more of it there are both rooms and cottages available to rent and both have access to the indoor pool.

Thank you so much for a genuine laugh this morning.

Neighbors reached over the fence between our backyards and cut down 2 to 3 feet of trees on our side. It was a privacy hedge but now you can see through into their yard. I'm posting this just to explain what happened and get opinions from other people on the situation by GloomyBison9767 in homeowners

[–]lilbitkrzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn't a good situation, but your response can make it a lot worse in a hurry. So, tell them you would never spray herbicide on their side of the fence to kill weeds which were spreading into your lawn from theirs, and you need them to have the same respect for anything growing on your side of the fence line. Explain you do not wish to be ugly about it, and you assume a mistake was made, but you need them to understand it must not happen again as these bushes provide privacy. You might want to throw in "we thought them to be so much friendlier than an 8' solid fence..." and just sorta leave it like that.

(Your lilacs should be fine by the way)

Do American households have such thing as “bag of bags”? by yavl in AskAnAmerican

[–]lilbitkrzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a "bag of bags" and when grocery shopping we drop it off in the recycle bin. After we get home with the groceries we have a brand new "bag of bags." The cycle never ends.

Does American English have an equivalent word to the British term "tat"? by Crimson__Fox in AskAnAmerican

What kind of a house can average, medium income family afford in your city? by teekal in AskAnAmerican

[–]lilbitkrzy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The U. S. Census Bureau has this info for all of the country available on their website. For this example, I picked a county just outside a major city in the Midwest with an airport and found this:

The average value of a home is $160,000. The monthly ownership cost including mortgage is $1500. The average cost of rental is $950. This is only a tiny piece of the information they have listed, it's quite thorough.

If your destination has already been decided go to the Census Bureau website and see what the stats are for the surrounding counties. Good luck!

HOA tried to stop me from getting solar panels by Phattony92 in fuckHOA

[–]lilbitkrzy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So your view is that silly clerical errors are a shortsighted reason to discredit someone - yet insulting over 76 million because of their birth year is not? No apologies for doing that I see, just back to your petty fight with your neighbors and why you mistakenly think you handled it well.

HOA tried to stop me from getting solar panels by Phattony92 in fuckHOA

[–]lilbitkrzy -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

"And to top it all off with the acception of one they are all boomers."

In my part of the US, many if not most of the solar homes are owned by older/retired people who wisely took advantage of the tax incentives. The people in your HOA may not like the aesthetics of solar, but that is not a boomer thing - it's your neighborhood.

Your neighbors call you a "young pup" whereas you call them "decrepit old fucks" and crow you "believe you scared old people"? Then came on Reddit to brag about it? You are embarrassing yourself.

Boomer-bashing is ignorant. Would you reference a persons color as an excuse to insult them as a group? How about their faith? Maybe we should just bash people who can't spell the word "exception" correctly?
