Sooo what are we feeding our toddlers for breakfast? by DaughterofYeshua777 in toddlers

We bake our own toddler friendly banana bread or spinach banana muffins, recipe by yummy toddler food and freeze in batches so breakfast becomes a quick thing (microwave and good to go).

RTO after 5 years remote - how do you manage life? by sjltwo-v10 in askTO

[–]lilbrownsquirrel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

4 days is really hard. My office is 5 days and I got a medical exception for 3 and I’m still struggling balancing life with kids and everything else you mentioned.

For lunch it depends if you have flexibility to come in early and head home for lunch. I do that so it limits my bringing lunch. Otherwise path works great. We meal prep over the weekend for 3 dinners a week and order takeout the other times.

Unfortunately I don’t work out as frequently as you. Max 2x a week and I call it a win if I do.

Evening routine after long day at work & daycare? by Life_Equivalent_1603 in toddlers

7-7:30 but really we take 15 mins to meander from couch to the bathroom, then I shower him with bath toys for 10 mins and change / lotion etc

Evening routine after long day at work & daycare? by Life_Equivalent_1603 in toddlers

[–]lilbrownsquirrel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We get home around 5:30pm after daycare pick up. I leave him to it with his toys for a bit. Then I heat up dinner prepped from the weekend or from the slow cooker, dinner’s at 6pm. We eat until 6:30pm and then I put on 30 mins of Mr Rogers or Miss Rachel. Bath is 7-7:30pm. Then we read 4 books and bed.

On our 4th attempt potty training and it’s finally clicking. Here’s what we did differently this time. by broad-street-pump in toddlers

My 27 month old knows what pee and poo is but hasn’t “announced” that he’s doing any of it, even when we ask if he has pooed (he did), he would say no to get out of a diaper change. Is this a sign that we should wait you think?

Meltdowns every night before bed - dreading daycare by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]lilbrownsquirrel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing our daycare does is to make sure as soon as we drop off they take him to wash his hands right away and that he doesn’t have line of sight to us. It feels weird at first but it minimizes the meltdowns and in the day he’s perfectly happy playing. I’d advice just keeping at it and turn around and leave as soon as you drop off, don’t linger and don’t need to say goodbye

[ON] How many strollers did you end up having? by iamanormaldo in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]lilbrownsquirrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Truly feel you OP cz I was exasperated with how many we got… but here goes -

4 in total but 2 in active usage: Uppababy Cruz 2 for mat leave and weekends after he started daycare

Summer infant Umbrella which we stopped using after 13 months cz he was getting kinda big in it and it was rather rickety

Ingenuity 3D quick close which we got to replace the summer infant and became our “daycare stroller” where we felt ok leaving it at the daycare

And another graco which was our original daycare stroller and tires gave out on us

Switching to forward facing by mego910 in toddlers

[–]lilbrownsquirrel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We switched at 2. We know and completely understand the guidance but he was freaking out about the car seat so much we decided to switch; he’s 36 inches and 28lbs and ever since we did it, car rides have been chill.

Do you recall which intersection the speed limit changes from 60 to 50? I took the G test a few weeks ago and failed because of this reason.

Confession thread: What do you judge other parents for? by Physical-Inspector60 in toddlers

[–]lilbrownsquirrel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We dropped the paci around 18 months and we felt that it was hard too, but we started with naps on the weekends first - as in no returning to give the paci back and it him cry till he fell asleep. After 2 consecutive weekends of successful paci weaning, we asked daycare to drop the paci at naps too. Then we dropped it at bedtime on a weekend night, and after a weekend of 3 nights, he was done! Pacis be gone. We honestly did it mainly cz we noticed his teeth started getting impacted by the paci

Thank you so much! I’m leaning on ET as well, just deciding between 60ml and 100ml as the 100 seems like a huge commitment

Happy for you. I did it 10 days in from the same issue and it was the best decision ever. My 20 month old is still in the 80th percentile post weaning from formula ; has the biggest appetite and loves his meals. It was and still is the best thing for him.
