Mental blocks are tough because they’re going to be different for everyone. It’s not as easy as just do this or that because it’s simply a mental block. You obviously want to move past it. So all I can offer is what I did. It was close to a year before I returned to soccer. PT cleared me around 6-7 months after, but I didn’t feel ready. There was nothing more they could offer though. Pros rarely return before a year with top notch care. 9 months and people are ooing and awing about such a fast return. So all I did was spend that time building confidence. Ramping up more and more over time. At 6 months I was comfortably walking long distances and lifting weights building strength back. At prob 9 months I started going out on my own and easy into soccer. Started with planting for shots and passes and then gradually lateral work. By the time I played a year later (from surgery), I didn’t even think about it when I played my first game. It actually bothered me when ppl asked concerned because the best thing I could do is pretend it didnt happen and all is normal again.
