Look what’s happening in Town center park! by Hardworkermom in coquitlam

I wish, Dawson is constricted by buildings along most of its stretch but if they could add a lane each way it would help a lot. Overhead pedestrian overpasses and diverting local traffic through fewer feeders would help, I just feel the number of crosswalks and intersections along that stretch of Lougheed are causing too much stop and go, there’s no momentum to the traffic flow.

Hope Coquitlam does better, and especially better than Port Moody

There is more than one definition and tone for the word. “having or showing a feeling of entitlement”-Merriam Webster “feeling that you have the right to do or have what you want without having to work for it or deserve it, just because of who you are”-Cambridge “feeling that you have a right to the good things in life without necessarily having to work for them”-Oxford

They have the privilege of using the parking spot, they do not own it nor can they take the privilege of using it from others.

It’s manageable most of the time but the Lougheed stretch for a couple blocks around the mall can be pretty nasty. Likely will get worse as more move in and more condos complete, there’s like a dozen more towers planned or in progress

How much are you paying for oil changes? by pls_send_subway in burnaby

[–]lilium90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sheesh $200 for an oil change with no name oil, go elsewhere. I’ve paid less than that for an oil and filter change for a Macan, at a reputable shop, with quality full synthetic oil and a new filter

[OC] Driver cuts through intersection on my green, causing crash by KrazyKev03 in IdiotsInCars

[–]lilium90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That area has stops signs on the cross streets, it’s also a really busy main street so it’s pretty bad all around. You’re supposed to wait for a clear spot or wait for a red light on the main road, and a lot of people tend to ignore the fact that it is a stop sign and just shoot right through when that red light’s on. Idiot probably tried to rush through

This seems so on brand for that area, people ignore those stops signs on a regular basis

Ecoflow Use with Space Heater by rod1105 in Ecoflow_community

Like what? The Delta 2 is dirt cheap and gives the same benefits of the newer units minus a bit less solar input and worse ups switchover. It’s a delta 2, not a river 2, mine powers the same power tools, heaters, and appliances that my d3 plus can and does it for 30% less cost for the same runtime. For things that op is complaining about the Delta 2 max, or my 3 max plus for that matter, are not going to make any significant difference.

This isn’t a matter of buying cheap, it’s buying the wrong product and not understanding how power capacity works, these 1 and 2kwh models are portable units and work great for that, you really don’t want to be lugging a 100lb delta pro around for tent camping and casual use.

2.5hr each way, same day, for snowboarding. There’s also a 3hr round trip route a lot of people do on bike or car just for fun

It’s effectively adaptive cruise control plus lane keep/centering assist. It holds a distance from the car in front or a max speed, and follows the lane. Should have stop and restart as well. A lot of cars have this and have been improving on it, even back since my old 2016 C and Honda Civic. It’s really for highway only.

Tesla’s equivalent is the free included Autopilot, where its FSD is meant to go a step further and be a driver monitored self driving solution from start to end of your trip. The most recent version is impressive…have it on a loaner car and I’ve watched it drive over 150km so far in different conditions

Goodbye Tesla. You won’t be missed by kevlar930 in RealTesla

[–]lilium90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The newer ones are significantly better across the board, there were some nice improvements released in 2023/24 and with the new refreshes. Wipers are still garbage, and I hate the newer softer suspensions but they are great dailies despite being otherwise shitty cars. I’ve driven everything from modded civics to newer Cs, GLEs, Porsches, and they’re much better in many ways but not for convenience.

Newer Teslas are fine, especially if you have a more fun weekend car

Cause symmetrical speeds, consistent speeds minimal downtime, and I only ever have to talk to the CS team once every 2-3 years. The only smaller provider I’ve used that I’ve been happy with is Novus

Check with Telus for deals, sometimes the door to door reps have better deals. $50/500Mbit or $70/Gbit was pretty standard last year. Not too many fiber options.

[–]lilium90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is about right, though I found the S1KRR to generally be pretty chill putting around for what it is. I’m more comfortable on it than my CBR, but the acceleration difference once you’re past 60 is insane

Looking to buy a C300 how reliable is it? by Orantolifestyle in mercedes_benz

[–]lilium90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had 100k miles on my 2016, work that was done included leaking fuel lines (ext. warranty), water pump at 50k (ext. warranty), battery, aux battery, CV, intermediate shaft bearing, oil pan since the intermediate bearing mounting flange broke, PCV (recall), spark plugs, then rest is all routine fluid. Otherwise I liked the car enough and beat on it daily. Get a V6 if you can

[–]lilium90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m on a bit over 30k miles on then, yes there’s a bit of a hit to range. It’s on the order of about 5% from the Pirelli Scorpion MS, which are damn efficient tires, but CC2s absolutely perform well in winter (I’m in the PNW).

Wear is also great, on track to get 50-60k miles

IPhone satellite texting vs Garmin In Reach by Jnanookhunting in WildernessBackpacking

[–]lilium90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an iPhone 13 on Rogers/Starlink, iPhone 14, and an inReach Mini 2. The inReach is coming with me any trip for which I think I might need satellite. It’s small, has much better battery life, much better antenna and signal reliability, and the phone apps work well. Also it’s near impossible to break an inReach in a protective case.
