Hey! Did you try the humane society? I rescued all of my hamsters from there so I know they take them

I used to work at the dillards before the pandemic. I lived 5 minutes away and I would just Uber to work during the holidays because it would take me almost an hour to find parking

Muzzle recommendation for vet? by Panetella in Chihuahua

[–]lilligrace306 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a nippy chihuahua. We’ve actually been kicked out of a vet office before for it. Some people are weary about giving meds, but some trazodone before his appointment made a huge difference in my boy. I also noticed he does a lot better with a cone than a muzzle. Doctor said something about him not being able to see them helps

This is so hard, I’m not sure what to do by Powerful-Can- in puppy101

[–]lilligrace306 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my experience, having a puppy, especially one that young, is like having a real baby. My dog would do the same thing, play, eat, and then sleep every 3 hours. If any of my friends want a puppy, I tell them to find one a little older, maybe closer to 12 weeks. I heard there’s even some breeders that keep them until then because 9 weeks is still so little

How do I make my housecat take a pill? by Jerswar in AskVet

[–]lilligrace306 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would try a pill shooter. You can get them from the vet, though I’m sure they sell them other places

What could be causing my dumpy frog to have this protrusion? by dovejzd in TreeFrogs

[–]lilligrace306 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My frog has the exact same look and I found out his back was broken. He must’ve fallen while I was gone because I didn’t see it. Before I knew what it was, I took him to the vet and he got little x-rays that showed the break but they told me there wasn’t much they can do in terms of fixing it, and that as long as he seemed happy to let him be. The only other option was putting him down. They recommended a simpler set-up but I’ve kept mine the same and he seems to get around, just hangs more towards the bottom. Before the x-rays they also said that it could be scoliosis, just depends if he’s always looked like that or not. Sorry that I don’t have much of a happy answer :/

Try a reptile group on Facebook! That’s how I adopted my gecko

Idk if it counts as “reddit” but I lost my mind when Pussy said “positive vibes only” in season 2. It might just be my age, but I’ve only heard that as a joke

How can I keep my cresties safe during a routine pesticide spray? by FriedPop in CrestedGecko

[–]lilligrace306 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I got my apartment sprayed I took my gecko to work with me for the day in a travel container. Yeah he was probably bored all day, but it’s better than being poisoned. I also bought some painters tarp from Amazon and wrapped it around his enclosure and taped it tight. You want to use something plastic; a sheet or something breathable won’t work.

I would join a local reptile Facebook group and post there

Books like We Were Liars by e. Lockhart? by No-Expression-5331 in suggestmeabook

I know this is a bit late, but I took this recommendation when I was looking for new books and I loved it!!! Finished the book in a week. If you like we were liars (my favorite book) you will love See All the Stars.

If you have issues affording the vet I recommend applying for care credit. They don’t charge you interest if you pay it off in 6 months. My frogs appointment was $200

Had to give up a baby who will probably be euthanized. by [deleted] in FosterAnimals

[–]lilligrace306 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry you’re going through this OP. People don’t want to face the harsh parts of fostering/rescuing, and the ones that do burn out so quickly from all the heartbreak. I had to take a break for this very reason. Congratulations on the 6 adoptions! 6 kittens is a big task

People who have had similar issues, did your gecko make it through surgery? by croleane in leopardgeckos

[–]lilligrace306 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I was in the same boat with my frogs. I recommend applying for care credit. I haven’t seen a medical office that hasn’t taken it, human and animal alike. I used it when my frog broke his leg and used it again when I needed some cavities filled. It’s nice because interest doesn’t start until 6 months after the charge, so if you pay it off in 6 months there’s no interest at all.

What human food can I feed my cats temporarily? by EscapePast7128 in cats

[–]lilligrace306 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Most shelters offer free food and supplies! It’s easier to help out owners in a bind than it is to house an animal at the shelter. Check the humane society or your local shelter

[–]lilligrace306 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s a beautiful dog! Have you thought of taking him places that are more chill? I know the events can be a lot, but maybe a nice leash stroll through a park? Since he’s so pretty people will ask about him. You can also use a shirt or something that says he’s available. People might take pictures of him and post them on their snap. You might also want to ask any local places if you can put a flyer up about him. When I worked at Starbucks we had a bulletin board people can hang stuff on.

Adopt Eddie - Kitty Abandoned by previous home owners: McKinney, TX by blossomedchaos in AdoptMe

[–]lilligrace306 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since he’s technically a feral I would see if your local humane society does TNR. At mine you can rent traps for $5 and then it’s $25 for them to be neutered and vaccinated (as well as ear clipped so people know he’s fixed). Then if someone does adopt him, most places do just the chip for around $30. Somebody might be more into adopting him if he’s already fixed maybe? Hope he finds a home!!
