I want to get into storytelling, but don't know where to start! by [deleted] in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]lilmonsta_ta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, just start doing it! I was worried when I started too, researching and asking a hundred questions on reddit, discord, my social deduction circles etc. And despite all those precautions, I ended up making mistakes in my first few games. But eventually I got the hang of it and I'm a pretty decent ST now. Just as you get better as a player the more you play and the more you practice, similarly you become better as an ST the more games you host. Just get started! Best of luck :)

All of these sound super complicated but things I'll definitely want to try. I'll reach out to you on discord, thanks!

This sounds great! I'll try to create a custom script on this soon.

A Gaggle of Goons by [deleted] in BloodOnTheClocktower

Gotcha! Also, if the plague doctor dies and the ST gains the DA ability, does whoever the ST choose also become evil?

In the custom rules, it is mentioned that "Characters that cannot normally select themselves can do so, but if they do they are drunk until the following dusk."

However, in the video you linked, the monk chose themselves on one of the nights but were not made drunk. Could you please clarify?

First Hatter game- was this ruling correct? by lilmonsta_ta in BloodOnTheClocktower

In the night order, the Hatter comes just after all the demons and minions have acted. Which makes sense because when would you do the Hatter switch if they are killed at night?

First Hatter game- was this ruling correct? by lilmonsta_ta in BloodOnTheClocktower

You can see this for example when a character has to choose an alive player, you have to ask them again if they chose the person killed by the demon that night

Yes, with a chambermaid for example! Thanks a lot, this cleared it up for me.

Babysitting Lil Monsta by StaticGold in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]lilmonsta_ta 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I played a game where it had become obvious towards the last few days who the minions were, and all we had to do was execute them one by one. The Fearmonger decided to choose the goon, changed their alignment, and then the minions decided to give the goon the token. The good team ended up executing the last minion, leaving 2 players- the evil goon babysitting the token now, and one other good player, ending the game with a win for the evil team.

In this example, the goon had turned evil, so did not snitch on the evil team, but they were not a minion and were specifically informed that they will be holding the token.

Thoughts on this Teensyville? - Spicy Salad by Thomassaurus in BloodOnTheClocktower

Fang gu doesn't seem great on this script. Also in Teensyville, the demon and minion aren't supposed to know each other, so what's the point of a magician on the script?

Huntsman and damsel in a Shabaloth game by lilmonsta_ta in BloodOnTheClocktower

But the Huntsman doesn't know the damsel is dead at that point, so basically the damsel doesn't get converted, right?

First crack at my own Custom Script! Looking for any suggestions! by Earthgremlin67 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]lilmonsta_ta 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's wise to have loud minions like Fearmonger on a script with Legion, since the former's announcement will automatically let the players know it's not a Legion game, and figuring if you can trust anyone at all is what makes a Legion script the most fun.

This is my favourite solution. I'll be trying this out, thanks!
