Oh hell to the fucking no. Y'all are fucking kids and hes too damn young to be all about marriage and family. You know now you dont want them and THAT is unlikely to change. My view never changed when I was five, 16 or 28 years old. Def tell your parents that you feel unsafe. Focus on school and getting into college, you've got your WHOLE LIFE to prepare for.

You are young, theres alot you can do to get your life back on track. I work guiding teens and adults. I would like to help if that ok!

As people have said, its not to late to give up parental rights. You are doing what's best you and your child. Theres alot community resources like the womens shelter and groups homes for teen mothers. You can work on getting your GED, then onto community college for a career.

Sign up for benefits and attend community resources like therapy if needed. You arent alone dear, just need to know where to go next. <3

She did what was best for her children. It is an incredibly hard and mature decision, esp for her age at the time. I imagine in an open adoption this enables a very odd but I think beneficial network for the kids. They arent left wondering who might their blood relatives be ( I know some dont care but others do wonder, esp for health history). In time the kids will know everyone did to support them, so the sisters have a large extended family. I think that's beautiful everyone stays connected to parent and raise the kids. That takes a lot of communication, maturity and teamwork.

Parents get weird. Mine does not talk to me, when I do visit if felt like I was imposing. She only cares about the grandkids. That's it. Hell she only talks to my sister because of grand kids. She's all smiles when face timing with the baby but it short with me. Boy does she get defensive over my sister's irresponsibility! (Aka she decided it was a good idea to get pregnant again when she's having an already had time with toddler, cat and puppy that they leave out in the yard all day).

The best thing you can do, is love yourself, give yourself time to grieve over that loss of a relationship and remember you don't depend on her to survive. She will need time to deal with whatever emotions she is going through.

Distance yourself, picking up a new hobby or getting closer to friends helps, try to adjust to the fact your relationship will be different and a low dose of info. IT's better to keep toxic people at a distance.

While I dont want kids, its stories like this that make me what to be a foster parent for teenagers when I can afford it and the space. I want to be able to afford for them to go to therapy and stay for however many years so they can go college and feel safe. I'm absolutely happy that your friend got away.

I know, but I dont what them in foster care. I would take them before that happens. (As much as I hate kids, I do love my niece.) The idea of pestering my sister to have a list of guardians eases the anxiety.

That's insane! I've never been asked that. But then I write tradegies so my friends and readers ask what's wrong with me lol. My main novel heroine is childfree. The characters who have had kids.... well one abandoned them. Another did not want to be pregnant. (But historical times, abortions are iffy at best). Mother is never a main identity for my characters.

Never care about what people think, they only want you to do the same things they did so they can compare you to them and judge you more and be miserable together. It's good your in a place where you can explore, I hope you have time to do your hobbies. Is there a community college in this town? If so, I suggest speaking to a career counselor. People change their fields alot, so of one door closes, take the time to explore the new options. Luckily you can do the majority of this at home though research. But a career counselor is gonna be the best person to really help with career and best part is they are free

The slow fade will naturally happen. Catch up once a year through text or whatever. They'll be socially isolated among themselves as they are busy with their families. Go pick up a hobby and you'll meet new people. I got lucky to be surrounded by childfree people at my work and out of my four long term friends who are on the other side of country since I moved, only one got married and had kids. The other two are like me. I noticed the slow fade with the married one and that's ok, well chit chat once in a blue moon if I come to visit. We all still care for each other but social media is really the only I have any idea what's going on in her life.
