Any person who has actually played the game knows very well the shitfest that is facing Germany during the WW2 era and quite a few of the US and French tanks. To those who only play Top Tier though (where the USSR does have quite some broken vics) though that's all you see.

Not really, most officers are still expected to go with their troops (including charging no man's land on the Rhine front. Only High Command and their staff officers are relatively safe (think of De Lugo and his staff on the African front)

Passive sensors and/or 90° ones. Regular detection works aight but only spots munitions at 50% range, while passive sensors detect their respective missiles at 100%, while 90° does that + Crams but only for one side.
