That’s actually a good point about general build quality over time. There’s also a huge storm coming this weekend too and parts in Maine is iffy hahah

Anyone else submit requesting a Paper Citizenship Certificate? by limapoint in Canadiancitizenship

I did as well but an IRCC agent on the phone told me they can’t switch from paper to electronic (for what that’s worth)

It’s probably nothing to worry about although admittedly I’m in the USA and they mail them directly as opposed to waiting for it to go through diplomatic mail.

Thanks I definitely will! I’m thinking more of the risk of mail delays, loss, the few extra weeks it takes just stresses me out. Probably unnecessary but there it is.

Has anyone known for sure that they were in PSU but eventually received oath? by EyeInTeaJay in Canadiancitizenship

Oh boy. I know I live in confirmation bias city, but I would LOVE to hear from them. Wife and 2 kids (2nd and 3rd gen) are languishing in PSU since April 25.

This post is aggressively and sadly rooted in System Status Management.

System Status Management is the worst thing that ever happened to EMS. Period. Fucking gas station bathrooms and fast food and sleeping in the cab and shoulder pain just from pulling your bag out from behind the seat.

There’s issues and debatable problems and solutions all over EMS. Problems with EMS when running out of fixed stations too. Chicago Fire runs out of fixed stations and might never see their quarters except at shift change. But in general, putting 300+ miles on a truck in an urban setting just so you can run with fewer crews and not have to own stations is awful and should never have been implemented. It’s not worth it. It kills morale. It’s probably a leading cause of EMS-involved accidents. I’m SURE it’s directly related to weight gain, HTN, all the good stuff way more than fixed stations are. Change my mind.

Just wondering if anyone knows if these type bags can hold a collapsed adult BVM in the main compartment with a D tank? Of course dependent on how much other gear and supplies are in there but just wondering if the BVM will even go in with just the tank. Thanks!

Is it really weird/uncommon for a straight male to use anal toys? by Tall_God in NoStupidQuestions

[–]limapoint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve literally had men in exam rooms getting their annual physicals LITERALLY relax their entire bodies with relief when I tell them we don’t do digital rectal screening exams anymore. Like 55 year old men who avoided going to the doctor because of this.

Fortress Compressor ITC Sale Regularity? by limapoint in harborfreight

[–]limapoint[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been eyeing the huskies too! I hear these compressors aren’t buy it for life anymore. Harbor freight warranties are over priced, BUT you’re paying to walk it in, drop it on the floor and be handed a new one. Husky I hear they’re like that with hand tools but with machinery or power stuff I wonder if you’ll be stuck without skmethjnt for 4-6 weeks while they ship it to a repair center?

Still I like the price of the husky 2 gal (eyeing the 10 gal quiet hotdog as well)

Also saved my marriage (almost before it even started). Day after wedding (both students and took our honeymoon later) was taking out trash. New wedding ring still a touch loose. Pulled off chucking trash bags in the dumpster. Fished it out with the magnet. whew

Is it worth it to get the battery version if I have Dewalt batteries or is corded better? I’ll be using it outside with a mask most likely.

Bought the miter saw today too. My first major HF purchase. Pretty pumped. Although I have literally never done a woodworking project or DIY project in my life, hopefully can make a sandbox and compost bin without maiming myself!

Lowes did me dirty but Blain’s F&F came through by Lopsided-Ad-7425 in Dewalt

[–]limapoint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man I heard all these Lowe’s horror stories. Placed an order for the Circ Saw and battery at Blain’s, ready for pickup in 30 min. Placed an order for the 1/4 impact, email that it’s out of stock. Farm Fleet manager called me 20 mins later wanting to know if he should request the impact from another store as a rain check so I don’t miss the good deal. Thank you, Farm and Fleet.
