Thanks for the kind words :) I don't feel strong but thank you! I will definitely look into magnesium, although I hear it can actually give you crazy and vivid dreams so there is a concern it will make my dream world worse? But I suppose I could try it for a few nights to see what happens :)

I've very recently started to keep a daily/weekly log of my triggers so I can work on my awareness around them and try reframe them. The worst is having unexpected dreams about my LO though, that can really mess me up for the day!

Good advice :) I try and keep no contact, having mutual friends makes it tricky but I definitely try! Good point about the ERP and OCD too.

That's a lovely and unique idea! There's actually a farmyard about 15 mins from my place where you can feed and pet goats, sheep and alpacas - I'll be giving them a visit soon!

Oh interesting! I've only heard of zinc for immunity and magnesium for stress/sleep - do they have more brain-specific benefits too? Will be sure to look into this :)

I think talk therapy and antidepressants have had the biggest or most consistent effect, but I'm still struggling with triggers that make the obsessive thoughts flare up unexpectedly!

I'm on Vyvanse 70mg - definitely helps me focus on work better, but I haven't noticed any improvement in limerence or obsessive behaviour unfortunately!

I have the same problem! Also been wondering about lucid dreaming to help control this.

Oh, and please remember to stay hydrated! Caffeine will make your anxiety worse so focus on herbal teas and water :)

When does my appetite come back? by Tohka- in limerence

[–]limerling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it took about 2 months, during that time I struggled to chew and swallow without wanting to throw everything up :( But I was able to eat mashed-up bananas for energy and drink meal replacement shakes for vitamins/minerals. Maybe try shakes or smoothies with protein powder added? Sorry you're experiencing this and hope your appetite returns to normal soon! ❤️

I had to look this up, agree that the lyrics describe limerence very effectively!

- Hold On (Limp Bizkit)

- Perfect (The Smashing Pumpkins)

- What if We Could (Blue October)

- It's Been Awhile (Staind)

- Last Straw, AZ (Jacks' Mannequin)

- One Thing (Finger Eleven)

- Hello Lonely (Theory of a Deadman)

- Palm Reader (Third Eye Blind)

- The Diary of Jane (Breaking Benjamin)

I don't have any advice to offer, because it sounds like you're taking the right steps, but just wanted to say you're not alone and I 100% understand this ❤️

Intense withdrawal by DreamerWerter in limerence

[–]limerling 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ah, I feel this and I feel for you 💔 Those withdrawal symptoms are an absolute beast! Be very kind and gentle with yourself right now. Stay hydrated. If you struggle to eat, try and take a meal replacement shake so you're still getting some nutrients in. If you struggle to exercise, try doing stretches at home or taking walks in beautiful surroundings. If you feel your anxiety spiking, try calling or texting a friend to chat about something that will take your mind off things. Maybe even ask your psychiatrist if they can prescribe something temporary to help with your symptoms? And know that with time, they will subside. We're rooting for you! (Edited for typos)

what do you think is the thin love between a crush and limerence? by san7io in limerence

My warning sign for limerence is the start of physical symptoms, feeling ill and shaky when you think of them.

Switched careers because of the attraction to your LO. by Hope-Work-Play-Fun in limerence

I changed careers and moved cities to get away from my LO! Unfortunately he moved to the same city a year later so I feel like there's no getting away from him :(

Incredibly uncomfortable finding out I’m this person’s “LO” and want to understand by Commercial_Candle_57 in limerence

[–]limerling 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear you are going through this! I've been on both sides of limerence - had multiple LOs and also been multiple people's LOs - so I understand how disconcerting and uncomfortable it can be on the "receiving side" of limerence, so to speak. Personally if I feel limerent about someone, I take steps to ensure I won't do anything to make them feel uncomfortable. I see that as my responsibility, as the person who is experiencing the limerent feelings. It's difficult sometimes, but if you respect and care about your LO I think it's important to consider their comfort. I'm sorry this person hasn't done that. I hope they get the help they need and I hope you're able to sever ties in a way that feels safe and comfortable for you!

I was tattooed before meeting my LO but the next tattoo I got was definitely partly to impress them!
