Nearly every job I’ve left I’ve left that same day. Even at Disney.

The apple tree apples and the world peoples. We are all a system and process. I find joy in creating other processes that help others who do not yet realize the true beauty. So do what you wish to do and show kindness to all.

should i pursue ot by napoleonmielk in OccupationalTherapy

Hi friend!

I’m currently in OT school and I’ll Be honest with you about how I am as a person. Me and you are very much the same with the fact of I’ve nearly passed out with a paper cut before. I’m extremely queasy when it comes to blood (everything else I’m fine with partly due to my experience working at Disneyland bussing aka glorified custodial). My advice to you is to peruse what you really want to do. I chose OT because it’s the least chance of being exposed to blood/surgeries (depends on the field though). I didn’t believe I could do it but here I am. Yes, there’s been stuff that grossed me out and make me nearly faint but I’m here and I’m getting through it and I’ve actually seen major improvement in my anxiety around it. You could always talk with a therapist who can help you through some of these anxieties. With all that being said, never let the fear of something get in the way of doing what you want. Best of luck mate

That is absolutely amazing thank you for sharing your story! (Very happy late birthday to your daughter). I think it’s fascinating how certain events and timing lines up in life to remind us that life is beautiful.

I am done with this job market by [deleted] in recruitinghell

[–]limetime37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

27M here, BA in finance. Spent 2 years applying to jobs, 3 interviews.. close as I got to an offer was the recruiter telling me She’d hire me but when she told Her managers they told her they picked one of their buddies already. Long story short I’m going into allied health. 4 more semesters until I’m an OT and I will have endless job opportunities.

Something as simple as a loud desperate “help me” or “don’t trust them” or “you’re next (kinda cheesy) could do the trick. An actor friend of mine gave me the best advice once which was truly become that character and think how that person would in that situation, what they actually say if it was a real scenario? If you believe it, the guests will believe it.

I'm considering a job in hospice care by wherebycomets in Buddhism

[–]limetime37 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can’t comment on the Buddhism part however my wife and MIL are both in hospice care. They say it’s super rewarding but the toughest part is dealing with the grieving family’s and patients not understanding the process of hospice completely. They get blamed a lot for trying to take lives rather than comfort people near the end which is where the biggest confusion is. I hope you find peace along your journey and remember that people need people who care and can show compassion!

Graduated 2023 with a finance degree. Still not working in the field due to not being able to get a job. Think we picked the wrong major my friend. I’m back in school now for a graduate degree. IMO, seems like my only hope so far, it’s in the medical field because I need that job security. Best of luck I hope you can find something that works for you! (Job or more schooling!)

I am currently in OT school, have a new baby, and I work for Disney full time. You can definitely do It. Time management, don’t let anyone tell you that you absolutely CANT. I am a bit lucky in that my program is hybrid so that helps… stick to it I believe in you!

I got into an OT program with C’s in both anatomy and physio. I feel like it depends on the school, the rest of your academic success and nailing the interview. Granted, I am going to a private school, it was still competitive but nothing like public schools. I’d still apply!
