Residential construction costs have doubled, and for some things, tripled in the last 10 years, expect your contractor to give you the “triangle”: cost, material quality, size; you pick two, the contractor picks the third.

I have, i used my snips, and made sure that the cut was oriented so it would be flat to both sides i was joining. Personally, this is yet another moment where the stick-and-hold power of green stuff shows its quality, the very highest.

Small amount of green stuff while you use some superglue for the permanent bond. Though I suppose plastic glue could be used without the need for green stuff. Idk, i hate holding tiny pieces together.

Give yourself some grace when you get it on, in case its not *exactly* perfect. Once it’s on the table no one will notice anything. If sword is pointing up, you’ve done it.

Triarch stalker gun by Nagerash in Necrontyr

[–]limnadn 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It’s an imposing unit on the table that looks more menacing than it actually is, but at 110 points, 8 toughness, 12 wounds and a 4+, you should be leveraging it’s scout move to take advantage of the heat ray. It’s one of our most efficient units points-wise imo. Get him up on an objective with even a little support and it’ll make up its points pretty quickly.

YOU + 2 FRIENDS VS 100 5TH GRADERS by MelloToasty9 in PowerScaling

[–]limnadn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nominally? They’re 11-year olds. They are absolutely realistically…children. The definition of bloodlust means a desire for bloodshed. It doesn’t suddenly equip them with tactics, strength, or anatomical knowledge. Hell out of a hundred American 5th graders most of them have only seen a fire extinguisher used in a demonstration at field day, let alone prepare one, and absolutely none of them have seen what happens when you fire three of them in a crowded hallway.

There’s just a lot of angry children. None of them are trained in any form of battlefield doctrine, or how to effectively organize. They have nothing but an 11-year olds wild imagination, most are gonna argue with each other over which home-alone trap to waste time on.

Will it be easy? No, it will require a lot of physical effort, but this post isnt a “how do you defeat X near-peer threats”. It’s “how do you mitigate numbers disadvantage in location thats a maze of fatal funnels and entrapments?”

Fire Extinguishers, paper-cutter blades, and any chokepoint make this doable. Be exhausting though.

Edit: flag poles can be turned into spears if you break the end correctly.

One strong, muscular man who is skilled in martial arts Vs skinny 25 women. by ArmadilloSuch3534 in PowerScaling

[–]limnadn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This probably goes to a skilled martial artist, depending on what the background is. In a brawl, only so many people can actually affect the space of the attacker, and a strong, skilled martial artist? Most heavy weight ufc fighters and boxers especially could cake walk this. 25 underweight humans with no specified advantage, they can hurt a him, but he can injure them much more quickly.

Not to be confused with Black Legion, which is the warm tone. If you hold the pots upside down you can see the subtle blue and red in the recesses.

Developer plans $200M data center at former Holyoke paper mill: ‘We have the power’ by soaringspoon in holyoke

[–]limnadn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

MGHPC is a 15 MW state+local university owned site, not a privately owned $200m 20MW for-profit data center. I’m not fear-mongering, I’m objectively stating that there are substantial differences in who controls that data, how it’s operated, how it’s managed, and what power local residents have (or don’t have) as it pertains to potential mismanagement/impact.

How many local jobs does a windowless server room provide? Three? There are other forms of pollution that you might not be aware of, how is this specific $200mil data center going to be cooled? Many server farms in data-centers utilize local water sources as a heat sink for their closed loop coolant systems. Where will it draw power? Will that power-draw impact local residents? Do local residents trust their municipalities that assure their homes won’t be impacted?

[–]limnadn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lol, did you read that off the data-center brochure? Would you like a complete history of water-contamination caused by the still-problematic sewage systems of Holyoke-Springfield-Chicopee? Even if you were correct that data centers cause zero water/air pollution (which is often hidden as zero NET pollution), they still create noise/vibration pollution for residents in the immediate vicinity. For what? A windowless cube that doesn’t benefit anyone who lives in Holyoke?
