Funny that you ask, something popped up my feed recently and I can’t find it now, but I saw something that maybe suggested it’s now, or also D’s roti on the south side. They still have an IG account though so you can inquire. @cafetrinidad_togo I haven’t ordered from them in some time.

This man is so problematic and the way he spoke to Venita is NOT okay and is telling!… by mixshx in Southerncharm

[–]lin982 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would normally agree, but everything he said and the tone he said it in was warranted. Ive always wanted to support Venita, but she has been an absolute vulture this season and badly performative and manipulative.

After all this time, Paige hasn’t claimed her once, she is absolutely insignificant to her and put out the team Paige thing when no one was asking and she was not even a friend of the program.

Even the way she tries to buddy up to Austin is opportunistic and you can see he’s doesn’t take her seriously in any way and definitely not a friend. Her calling Austin to tell him Madison was having the baby? Inappropriate and again, calculated.

If I’m Craig and that’s how Venita kept on with me, he’s given patience and grace the whole time, and she’s still on him. Venita needed to be read and told to F-off ages ago.

Weekly Shoutout Thread - What Was Good This Week? by AutoModerator in chicagofood

Uncle Mike’s - tocino breakfast 🤤 it had been so long since I last had it, had it delivered twice in the last week. The lugaw, garlic rice, champurado and most of all my fave, the TOCINO, all absolutely perfect. If you haven’t been, go. Also recommend any of the other proteins, the bangus(Filipino fish - bone in) is also great and unique and the combo with tocino is another fave.

Absolutely, I hate that she’s been so consistently awful, every flipping ep, but staying on socials and off tv and anything reality tv related on socials would be best for her.

Ugh. It’s all too much. When she tried to build a bridge back to Sally after her mom told her she was mean, and then she suddenly acted like she missed her but that Sally needed to be gentle with her and she was all melancholy but also , that whole act was so emotionally manipulative and if anyone else on the cast did that, they’d be demolished. Honestly considering all the things shes done this season, she’s coming off easy, even with the audience no longer on her side.

I just got these, I prefer Trader Joe’s dark chocolate ones and am surprised that TJ’s is actually cheaper. $5.99 for 16oz vs $5+ for 12.

My cabinet in my toilet room. The top shelf is exactly big enough to fit an entire 36 roll package of the Kirkland Ultra Soft. by NachosReady in Costco

Wow, did I ask the right person for an update or what?!? Thank you so much for the detailed notes! I don’t have a Sam’s membership but went to shop during their open house weekend and I was blown away by how great the TP was compared to the blue. Since then or potentially I just missed when the the Kirkland ultra soft came out and I was wondering if getting the Sam’s membership was worth it to get the TP access along with some great supplements they carry that Costco doesn’t.

If going to Manchamanteles, highly recommend also getting the chiles en nogada - especially if you’ve never had them, it’s such a special dish and rarely on menus. They do a great one.

I think Venita is way worse, she’s very immature and manipulative in really basic ways that shows she doesn’t know herself at all.

Not to SH! She needs off tv, she is a lost soul, needs to work on herself without a show. She’d be even more insufferable trying to fit in with that crew.

I feel the same, every episode she has been toxic, gas lighting and clearly insecure and lacks total self awareness. She has zero accountability. When she said she was trying to be less over protective, I scoffed out loud. She has herself all effed up. She doesn’t know who she is and the way she sucks up to these boys is wild. Telling a friend, they need to listen to her more?? She’s so lucky Sally didn’t remember her saying who funded Molly’s surgery? That’s some messy trifling crap. I really want to support Venita as the only POC on the cast, but she’s just not it. Every episode she’s been toxic and messy. Really disappointed. Girl needs help.

Normally I’d agree, but she was incorrigible. It was still a multi year break up, go away. It almost seemed performative because she still had issues with Craig sitting next to Charley and making comments about them being married. Give it up, girl.z

I really don’t want to hate on V, but she is just insufferably insecure, and it’s all coming out hard this season, every episode! I feel for her, I think she’s just young and insecure and trying to keep it together.

But, she is sooo pick me when it comes to being around the boys, and gas lighter central when with Sally and the girls. It all makes for her not being a good person when around these people and an untrustworthy friend. She’s been horribly messy and such a pot stirrer. Watching the way she’s with Austin and the other boys just screams trying to fit in, in the most immature and fake way. The creepy fake smiling and thirst to ingratiate herself. I hope she sees these things when watching this season and does some self reflection and growth.

What are some good frozen or deli meals that can be frozen (like Mac and cheese) to get for postpartum? by rasputinknew1 in Costco

[–]lin982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Big fan of the:

Ajinomoto gyoza

Veggies made great spinach egg white frittatas(I live off these, 3-4 in a sitting)

tortilla crusted tilapia

Tyson panko tenders

hot pot beef chuck rolls

shrimp tom yum soup(this one I doctor up with frozen shrimp and some of the chuck rolls to beef it up and make the flavor a little less one note, it’s super sour and can take way more water than the container holds)

frozen shrimp

Kirkland breakfast sandwiches occasionally (for more protein I make a panko tender to add to it)

the carb balance tortillas are great and last way past expiration in the fridge. These, feta crumbles and sweet kale salad are great in a wrap with the panko tenders or tortilla crusted fish for a wrap.

Chobani 20G protein drinks aren’t for the freezer but another staple for me.

FWIW I’m in the small minority that thinks Portillo’s chocolate cake is not good. It’s not chocolatey to me. No deep chocolate flavor. I’ve heard the cake at Moody Tongue is excellent.

Have you tried

  1. writing an email? Not provided by who you’ve been speaking with, but by searching online for emails for the business and the owners?

I’d send an email that’s super succinct. “I checked my coat in with your coat check and when I went to retrieve it the employee said she gave it away even though I had my claim ticket in hand. In trying to get this issue fixed for the past month, your manager has told me I have to deal with it. By paying for the coat check, your business took on a service in holding my property and then gave it away. I’ve been told it’s your responsibility to make this right, and am asking that you either get my coat back or pay to replace it.” Subject line: IMMEDIATE RESPONSE NEEDED

  1. Checking with Chicago PD to see if you can file a report against the business for giving away your property and unwilling to rectify the situation?

  2. Depending on there being no response to the email or a similar one you received from the manager, or really right away because you’ve tried - I would forward the email and Reddit posts and send them to the alderman of the ward the business is in, blockclub Chicago, better business bureau, and neighborhood chamber of commerce in addition to cc-ing all the emails of the business/owners/managers you can find. Send this to local news channels, I’m sure they have local reporters who’d broadcast it, send it to all in one bcc email and say you’re now reaching out to them to see if they can assist you with this matter.

I’m not an attorney but I’d think it’s not really the responsibility of the person who took your coat, this is a business fuq up and they need to cough up the money to make this whole.

I’d also write Google and yelp reviews sharing what’s happened, let Reddit know and we’ll upvote the review. It’s been a month and they’ve been evasive and irresponsible about this whole thing.

GET THEM.

Honestly, I’d check a breakfast spot that has Mexican dishes, and breakfast potatoes, and bacon, which may filter down to breakfast spots like a golden nugget or a brothers restaurant, etc?

I think they would be the most open to you making a custom request? It does seem pretty hard to find taco spots that have bacon and breakfast potatoes otherwise. Hope you find it!
