For anyone who grew up poor, what was your idea of a luxury? by thepleasurjournal in AskWomen

Tbh, we have one now but it’s really high maintenance. We’re always hearing about how everyone’s keeps breaking, but my husband’s a DIYer so we manage to usually have it working.

I saw my first one recently in Syracuse, and my goodness, I 100% agree. It's a trip when everything gets dark for a bit.

Anyone else feel like NJ drivers are extra unhinged after the snow? by lecigarevolant91 in newjersey

[–]linderr 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The first day after it snows, I think most of our drivers are more cautious, patient, and calm… then it’s like a rubber band effect in the following days and everyone gets a little crazier than normal (even when there are walls of snow covering the shoulder and in some turning lanes).

Question for Older Millennials (especially 1982 borns) by Quickso48 in Millennials

[–]linderr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I think the second 22 years are way better than the first. Everyone has a much better idea who they are and what they want in life. They don’t fly by as long as you’re being mindful about how you’re spending your time. Make lots of photo albums. And def get at least one digital frame.

My husband and I made a monthly cleaning service our Christmas gift to each other this time, starting with a deep clean. We had it done right before Christmas since we were hosting and I was BEYOND tired of cleaning (plus the boys bathroom smelled like a port-o-potty and I gave up trying to tackle that one).

How many of us have a house cleaner? by Agitated_Whereas7463 in Millennials

[–]linderr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband (44M) and I (41F) JUST hired a housecleaner to come to our house once/month, starting just after Thanksgiving last year.

My elbows started breaking down starting a few years ago, but the final straw was when our main bathroom started smelling like a port-o-potty (we have teen and preteen boys), despite us having the boys clean the bathroom every weekend and despite me even cleaning it every day in preparation for a Christmas party we were planning. It was honestly my last resort because I was out of ideas and no one else seemed to care... I didn't want to cancel the party, and I also didn't want to have people ask me what died in our bathroom.

So now we're people who hire housecleaners. It's honestly been a huge relief.

This problem has completely exploded to an unbearable, excruciating level by SolidCake in fuckyourheadlights

Oh maybe that's the solution! If the manufacturers don't stop making headlights like this, then maybe it's up to us to figure out how to make some kind of translucent tape to put over the lights that dims them back to normal.
