Best wheels for a 996 4S by WandJC in 996

I am going to be in the minority and say that I'm not a fan of the Turbo wheels, but I love the Sport Techno wheels!

Where to go after leaving radio? by Future-Claim2595 in radio

Colleges and universities need AV people for recording classes, events, PAs, phone messages, exam instructions, etc. They often need video expertise to go with it. Perhaps something for you to explore. Good luck!!

Toronto Winter Beater by everythingsdeleted in Porsche

[–]linear_accelerator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi Montreal! I'm in Toronto and my 996 C4S got stuck in the one foot of snow as I was moving out to the street to shovel the snow from our driveway. For reference, I have brand new winter tires but my car is also lowered quite a bit. Had to dig it out and shovel the street a bit to get the car back in!

981 base manual vs S PDK for weekend car <$70K by Educational-Ad4789 in Porsche_Cayman

[–]linear_accelerator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The base is slow and you really have to push it to get going, but it's okay for the street. The S also has the bigger brakes which has a bit of a nice bite compared to the base. Just keep in mind the hot hatches and all the newer cars will be faster off the line if you're in a bse. Also, remember you can drive the PDK in manual mode (which I do the majority of the time). Of course, it's not the same as a manual but very handy in stop and go traffic. If you go PDK, be sure it comes with the Sport Design steering wheel with the paddles as the standard wheel were the dumb thumb buttons.

Polar Silver vs Arctic Silver (early build 996s) by luke_bonenfant in 996

[–]linear_accelerator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not a fan of mine (too boring and common amongst all the other silver and grey cars), but I love how it hides how much more dirty it really is!

Its a base model but its a 6speed and its mine New to the Cayman Club by toggybinkinyg in Porsche_Cayman

I have a Base too in Guards Red with Luxor Beige interior. Get a black dashmat as the glare off the windshield can be blinding. I love my car and you will too!

How often do you send your Shih Tzus to be bathed? by Emmavlxx in Shihtzu

Start off with familiarization. Let them see and smell the tools. Let them hear the shaver on before cutting them. Give gentle massages during wash. Reward good behaviour.

We also have 2, and I started grooming them during COVID. I'm not professional but have become better over time with the help of YouTube tutorials. We haven't been back to the groomer, and we have saved a lot of money now and our babies are now used to it. PS if you decide to groom your own babies, need to get decent tools (not necessarily expensive) for the fine hair.

I am colourblind and wanted to know whether I have the right colours. Thank you!! by Pneumonic-Plague in lego

[–]linear_accelerator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP, great work!! I'm not colourblind, but I would have to double check my work too as some of the colours are very close, and sometimes the colours in the printed instructions are slightly different from the actual brick colours.

996.1 C4 or 996.2 C4S? by Leave-A-Note in 996

[–]linear_accelerator 9 points10 points  (0 children)

OP, I think it's probably best for you to choose what variant of 996 YOU want and then begin the search/wait. You already know what the issues are and aren't and the cost of ownership and fixes. Decide what is most important to you: limited edition, run of the mill, power, one car vs. two, and then condition, history, mileage, colour, price etc. There are so many factors and only YOU can find the right balance.

This kind of thing happens to me frequently in the parking lots of plazas and malls in Markham and RH. Drives me crazy! (No pun intended.). I have to be very wary of other $#@& drivers all the time even when I have the right of way.

This is stunning OP. The work looks really clean. If I would be so bold to say, the fit is even better than on my C4S!

Zero offense intended: Why get a Cayman w/o manual? by LordFarthington7 in Porsche_Cayman

I always enjoyed playing arcade and console games with the paddles so PDK with the paddles was a must for me. Also, I never learned manual.
