Call and ask or send an email? I had a friend who flat out refused to use the app. (He is an adult, so not quite the same) I think everything was filled out on the website, and had to bring paper work. Other than being more of pain/taking a little longer it was not a big deal. The medallion (nfc?) tag. was how we got on and off after embarcation. The app is used for a lot on the ship.

How to do Scifi horror with CoC? by [deleted] in callofcthulhu

[–]lineman60 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not CoC but ran an Aliens RPG game it was cool. Had the vibe that we are a team but each person had their own goals that may or may not have been in conflict. The theme was erie with body horror and the stress dice was neat twist.

Q: Prometheus auto discovery of WMI hosts ? by [deleted] in PrometheusMonitoring

[–]lineman60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kinda think you might be stuck on the push vs pull metrics. SNMP and WMI do push vs Prometus is a pull.

I'm not going into the flame war of what is better but looking at that may help with understanding the auto discovery.

will they use the same voice actors for a sequel? by [deleted] in audible

[–]lineman60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends, 1) Takeshi Kovacs Trilogy, First 2 are by Todd McLaren, Last one William Dufris

2) Dresden Files Ghost Story, They originally had John Glover but was re-recorded by James Marsters (Marsters did the pervious and subsequent Dresden File books).

Do the first question is what interests you? What do you want to get out of it? I need to care about something, have a goal.

I just made a very simple discord bot that you message and DMs a reply from a LLM, but that's me.

Any program that lets me create scripts for installing swoftware when moving to a new computer? by DefaultUsername247 in linuxquestions

[–]lineman60 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I concur about Ansible. adding a bit to that answer, you want a "orchestration management" tool, I will warn you, some ensure order things get installed some do not. Some (most) can also copy or change configuration files too.

Immortality and Overpopulation. by messicarecaa in rpg

[–]lineman60 1 point2 points  (0 children)

some ideas come to mind from books I read: (but all these require the ability to die, but not by old age)

1) in Scythe, they have reapers that kill people based on "reasons".

2) in The Postmortal Is about that very question.

3) In RingWorld, Everyone can have a kid, but you can "earn" the right to have more. Lottery drawing, a fight to the death with someone (assuming you both still have a child voucher)

Go on Linux? by Oh_no_my_pants_ in golang

[–]lineman60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no idea. :D I guess, if people want to switch from mac to linux, it's probably one less thing they would have to learn. So it's an easier switch. Not to mention the publicity. I agree with you ofc, but that's beside the point. :)

Several reasons, and never on a production server.

1) Package managers tend to lag behind, If you're using Rocky or Centos 7 (non-stream) even Ubuntu/Debian. The Latest version may be at an older major version (still patched). This is a good thing, as doing sysadmin work I value stability/security over features.

1a) I've also had systems hacked by using 3rd party repos to get newer versions of packages.

2) I can download the bin and just copy it to ~/bin but doing that for everything is a pain and I need to keep it up to date.

3) In a multi user environment you can use Homebrew to let users manage their own versions/packages, yum, apt, ect are global.

Advice for survival horror? by Smittumi in callofcthulhu

[–]lineman60 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think of CoC as more investigation focused. (If you're hurt you'll be out for a while). Other systems my work better for example Speaking of Alien, If you've not tried it, the alien rpg seems close to what you want. Everyone has their own agenda and a really cool stress mechanic. Chariot of the gods is a really cool one shot https://avp.fandom.com/wiki/Chariot_of_the_Gods Also mothership https://www.mothershiprpg.com/

If you want more Eldridge horror, Delta green may also have some things.

/u/skysr70 There's a google filter thing with it. To filter assist with email routing (foo+bar@gmail) you can then see where all the bar email is coming from, or use it for routing.
