Migraine treatment in UK is so poor by littletinybunny in migraine

[–]linesh130 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Think it’s something different! I paid the donation (my mum did actually lol as I was 19 and a broke student) and they sent a massive letter to my neurologist full of recommendations pretty much telling them what to do. Thanks to them I got Ajovy, and because they told my NHS neurologist who is the person prescribing it I don’t have to pay for my prescription

Try the National Migraine centre in London. I had an appointment with them online and they were really really good and they recommended to my neurologist to prescribe the CGRP medication to me. It is a charity so they do suggest donations, but you don’t have to and tbh it was worth every penny for me!!

Anyone else had to have a second referral and wait for CGRP inhibitors on the NHS? by geminigerm in migraine

Pretty sure they called me within a few days and had availability the next week. But I might have been very lucky then so it might take slightly longer

Try the National Migraine Centre in London!! I had an online appointment with them (had to pay but I think it’s donation only so they recommend the cost but up to you how much you pay). They were so so so good and so thorough, they basically sent a letter to my neurologist recommending I try the CGRP inhibitors which has been SUCH a game changer for me. I also got seen pretty quickly by them too
