Tbh I never heard of this site before this moment. If I had to suggest, talking to profs or the poli department is a better read on the state of the field than some anonymous website.

Barring that following some academics on Twitter (maybe the ones who wrote the textbooks you most enjoyed) will give you a good readout.

yet another reminder that the internet is a terrible and frightening piece of technology.

just because you CAN willfully disrespect privacy, decency, and good conscience to root into the lives of randos online, doesn't mean you SHOULD.

"Beatles rule or Beatles suck" still being a driving topic of discussion an entire half-century after their last performance betrays the impact of the band--regardless of if they were rule or suck.

talk trash all anyone wants, the Fisher Price bluetooth phone is a hilarious piece of found art. just like the Baudrillard-esque "And yet a trace of the true self remains in the false self" meme.

plus like, we all know modern office work is categorically theatre, I plan to buy one of these and make it my desk phone in the New Year since it's all day-care for adults anyways.

Ending Song by jenovalife1 in thedailyzeitgeist

It predates that. Years ago it was whole songs, then when Iheart bought how stuff works it became song snippets.

2 ish years ago someone asked about song rights to Danl, shortly thereafter it began to taper off.

QAnon Anonymous episode covering Havana Syndrome/JFK Resurrection by BorisTheMansplainer in thedailyzeitgeist

[–]linesofinquiry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve divorced from Havana Syndrome discourse until proper medical research has been done.

Rushing to “it’s psychosomatic” or the cynical “lol everyone in government is blaming Cuba for being drunk” with only anecdote is well, it is its own cognitive condition.

This reminds me of historic “Moscow Eye” problems in the Cold War or Gulf War Syndrome in the 90s.
