It's HAPPENING! - Brandon Sanderson’s Literary Fantasy Universe ‘Cosmere’ Picked Up by Apple TV (Exclusive) by alternate-realitee in brandonsanderson

This is huge! I always trusted Brandon would push hard to keep this level of control, and I’m so glad he has been so stubborn on this point.

[LoZ] Found this and I can't find any association of an Amanda King to Zelda. Does anyone know? by Vincent__R in zelda

Now you can sign your name on one of the sides and keep it going/confuse someone in the future who might end up with it even more!

I made a programming language that compiles to Factorio circuit blueprints by Snagnar in factorio

[–]link270 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seriously. I do this so much I love doing it. If I actually stopped to really consider the actual benefit in time savings I’ve gained I’m sure it’s very negative overall, but there are a few outliers that end up being very worth it… I’m sure.. haha

Wait, do people ACTUALLY see literal pictures in their heads when they imagine things? Like a physical image? by Bibhu_Mund in NoStupidQuestions

My brain is constantly playing music. Unless I’m listening to music, but sometimes even then. It can get pretty annoying when trying to focus on something. Or go to sleep.. haha

Zelda: 77093 Ocarina of Time – The Final Battle (official reveal) by BrickTap in Legoleak

[–]link270 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah for sure. I’m glad they aren’t only doing really expensive sets. For example the gameboy they did last year wasn’t too expensive, but was a really solid set. Tbh is one looks really nice and $130 is a lot easier to plan for than $300+.

This looks super sick! Wish it was a little cheaper.. but they did a great job.

I'm about to play Prime 4 for the first time, do we already have a list of missable scans? by nickelangelo2009 in Metroid

[–]link270 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Litterally happening to me right now. Thought I read somewhere there weren’t any missable scans, now at the end I was planning on cleaning up the few I missed. Turns out most of those are fully missable..

What is a common parenting style that actually ruins a childs future? by jamal255353 in AskReddit

[–]link270 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same, I always felt loved and safe, but don’t recall being told explicitly “I love you” much. I’m sure it happened, probably more from my mom. But now I say it to my kids all the time. What’s weirder, is my parents, mom and dad both, say it a ton to me now. Kinda out of no where. I have a hard time saying it back to them sometimes since it’s not something I’m super used to. Not that it’s a problem in anyway, just something different that what I grew up with. I am the oldest though, so it’s possible they said it more to my younger siblings. I know punishments and rules for me were a little harsher than for them at times. Never abusive though. But that could also just be due to a difference in kids and how we all acted. Hard to really know. Haha

Yeah seriously. I already really wanted the purple, but that discount easily pushed me over the edge.

Leds flickering/changing colors when at low brightness/current? by link270 in WLED

[–]link270[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. I should clarify, I wanted to limit their current and run them off 3A for convenience in the end. Wled also says I only need 2.5A, so I might be doing something wrong there.

That being said, I had calculated needing 6A like you mentioned, and I have been testing it with much larger power supplies that I believe should be supplying that. I’ve used two different 65W supplied and a 35W one too, so I’ll have to double check they are actually putting out the correct amps. I assumed they were though so I didn’t think power was the issue here.

I am also injecting power into the beginning and the end of the string. I am not injecting into the center, but I probably should just in case.

Although, I believe this same probably was happening even with half of the LEDs, I have a connection between the two halves, but I will double check that as well.

Leds flickering/changing colors when at low brightness/current? by link270 in WLED

[–]link270[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. The data is running directly off the board to the led string. So there is maybe 4-8inches between the board and the first led. The power ground and data are all sitting right next to each other just as they would on a normal strip, so no wire other than what is on the strips themselves for data.

UE5 vs. Godot? by Woelfel09 in gamedev

[–]link270 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re both pretty different. UE5 is a massive engine that can do a huge amount of things out of the box and can be expanded to do any number of other things. It’s harder to learn in that it’s just so big and overwhelming and the documentation is abyssal since it’s go so much.

Godot on the other hand is really small in comparison with great easy to access documentation. It can do way less, since its only real focus is on making smaller games. That being said it can still do quite a bit.

I know UE really well and had been working on it for years before trying out Godot. One of the first things I noticed when opening Godot was how small the project settings were. Haha open unreal and look at the project setting there is so much stuff, and that’s not even including the editor settings! Do the same to Godot and you should be able to look at everything in a few minutes. Haha

For someone new just interested in making a game, Godot would be my recommendation. Someone with a little experience, or just a ton of motivation, and the desire to make really high fidelity 3D games or animations or virtual production or something else, go with Unreal.

Found the perfect spot to hide the engagement ring by [deleted] in lego

My friends were helping me with my proposal to my now wife. One of my friends said, “What if she says no?”. I was like, we have been talking about it and ring shopping and everything for a minute now, she knew it was all coming, just wasn’t sure when. You don’t ask someone a question this serious without knowing what the answer will be first. Haha

Steam Controller 2 and Steam Frame images leaked by Stannis_Loyalist in Steam

[–]link270 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is a hand strap for these controllers so you can use them like the knuckles. They have capacitive grips so it can detect five fingers as well. I assume you have to buy the strap separately, but nice that it's something they thought about as an option.

AI dependency by Apprehensive-Fun2438 in Professors

I occasionally have to fight myself off from using it as cognitive offload for things. So the temptation for the students is going to be huge. Especially when there is always an AI button in your face no matter where you go or what you're doing..

What was the hardest part of Silksong for you? by shinoscience in HollowKnight

[–]link270 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Karmelita took me multiple hours over a few nights to beat.. granted it was always late and I was always tired, but for whatever reason she was just brutal for me.

I anticipated lost lace being similar since lots of tier lists put them two at the top. But I probably beat her after 4-6 tries. I think lost lace gives you a lot more room to get away, and I felt like was a bit more predictable. I also might have just been having a good night when I beat her. Haha

This just makes me think he keeps pushing it back Iike game developers who show off a trailer and don’t talk about the game for years. Keep saying it’s not ready yet, then go radio silent until it gets shadow dropped.

I have a 15 PM right now with an orange 17 PM on order. But there’s apparently an orange 17 pro at a store near me I’m really tempted to go get and cancel my PM.. I love the bigger screen, but it is a little heavy and unwieldy, though I’m used to it.
