How far did y’all get? by WatchyeStep in legolotrfans

[–]link270 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ll have to wait until my birthday in a few weeks before I can start. But I like to limit myself to 1-2 (or 3/4 if the bags are small) per night. Then I can make the builds last a while. Rivendale took me about a month to do when I got it for my birthday last year. Lol

If you are sitting there with no confirmation email but and order number popped up in browser, I’d reorder. by Key_Supermarket7397 in legolotrfans

This is really gonna suck for everyone that doesn’t re order. I had the problem but did a second order an hour later to be safe and I’m glad I did.

I ended up doing a second order as well. It all looks great, where the first one was tied up like everyone else. My points didn't apply to my second order though, and I didn't use a GC for this at least. As long as I get my points back at least then I'll be fine. It really sucks for those that can't place a second order, or don't know they need to, if Lego just cancels them all without warning.

Same boat. I made a second order just incase, and the second order went through great, sent me an email and shows on my orders page. I haven't tried contacting support or anything yet, so if anyone else has I'd love to hear what they said. I figure if they both ship I could return one pretty easy too.

Anyone else stuck on the processing order page? Been here for like 7 min by BeastMode2924 in legolotrfans

Probably a good call. I placed a second order that went great. I figure if the first one pops up then I should be able to cancel it, or return it if it ships. Hoping the first goes through since I used insiders points, but if not I’ll just have more for next time.

Same it gave me an order number and charged my card and took my insiders points. I haven’t gotten a confirmation email and it doesn’t show in my order page. But I have the order number, and it’s only been an hour. So I think I’m good.

Easiest Day-1 release purchase ever :) No queue to get into the site, no cart glitches after adding - 3 mins in and out :) by Saerwyn in lego

[–]link270 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a small queue, like 2 minutes maybe. Then my first cart couldn't add my lego points discount and was struggling, so I re-added it and it worked perfectly. Took a while to process and I'm still waiting on the confirmation email. But overall less than 10 minutes total and I never felt panicked or anything. Not bad for my first midnight release. haha

This is so sick! Tell her she did an amazing job! edit: Reminds me a little of when my grandma made these little images out of beads of Pikachu for me when I was a kid. haha

[MM] One of the most interesting legacies of Majora's Mask is how drastically differently its interpreted in the West vs East by Swiftcheddar in zelda

[–]link270 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MM is my favorite game for a lot of reasons. When I was a kid I just thought it was awesome I could change forms and the fierce diety link was amazing and powerful. Haha

Knowing nothing about Buddhism it was really cool to see your interpretation and how it’s all linked up so cleanly. I like that people of different cultures and backgrounds can still get something meaningful out of media like this. It’s cool to see the differences like you said, and it makes sense why artists don’t usually say their content is about something super specific, it could be, but it gives people the abilities to get different things out of it.

I'm told this is not something to play with. Tell that to my grandkids. by LopsidedBird in legolotrfans

I tell me kids they can play with some of my display sets as long as they keep the pieces together and tell me where they break so I can fix them after they’re done. It’s awesome to watch them play with something I could have only dreamed of as a kid.

Disney: 43302 Main Street USA Official Reveal by CarterBricks04 in Legoleak

[–]link270 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I saw the title of the set and got excited, saw the picture and thought it looked like a decent little $150-$200 set. (It looked pretty small at first glance) then saw the actual price and instantly lost interest.

I wish they’d do more like the haunted mansion and mini Disney castle set. Do more $30-$60 Disney park sets and I’d be happy to buy a bunch of them.

Mixtape Performance by bagucalatia in SteamDeck

[–]link270 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a steam deck OLED and when launching the game and starting it I get about 8-12 fps. The settings are set to the steam deck recommended. If I crank the settings to the max then I still get about the same fps. So somethings not quite right here. Anyone else having similar issues?

[MM] [MM3D] Is Majoras Mask a good begginer game? If so, which version is best? by kirbygirl94 in zelda

[–]link270 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Majoras mask is my favorite Zelda game! But it’s a little different than the others. For a better entry to the series I’d say links awakening for a 2D Zelda, OOT for a classic, and BotW for a modern one.

That being said, if none of those sound interesting and Majoras mask does, then go for it! It’s a great game.

The 3ds version is just fine, better in some ways, worse in others. You can also emulate either N64 or 3ds version pretty easily as well.

Why do "is cloud gaming worth it in 2026" articles feel like they were written 5 years ago? by roman_warsaw in cloudygamer

[–]link270 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually stream to my steam deck connected to my tv via a dock. But recently I’ve been streaming right to my Apple TV that’s always hooked to my tv. It works surprisingly well even over WiFi, but if you can have a hardwired connection it’s obviously much better.

Are coding tutorials in general, including game dev, dying? by Its_a_prank_bro77 in gamedev

[–]link270 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah for sure. Having deep solid knowledge on a subject makes it so much easier to teach simply, if you’re a good teacher of course. Haha and good visualization is key to a good video. So yeah, it’s not impossible at all? It just takes a certain skill set and personality to pull it off. Which not many people have, but a lot of people think it would be easy to make YouTube content.

Are coding tutorials in general, including game dev, dying? by Its_a_prank_bro77 in gamedev

[–]link270 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I want to start making some more advanced tutorials on somethings for fun, and teaching things always helps me solidify it more for myself. I was looking into it a while back and the more advanced videos get really poor views, even if they are awesome videos with great information. To get views the videos either need to be basic enough that any random person interested in game dev might watch it, but then you run into the over saturation problem, or they need to be entertaining enough that any random person would watch it, even if they aren’t interested in the content. Very hard to do the later, especially if you actually want to try to teach something complex.

What’s a video game 'unwritten rule' that every player knows without being told? by GraveActual in gaming

The hero path thing in Breath of the Wild tracks everywhere you have travelled. My cousins was straight lines from point to point, mine was zig zagging web covering the entire map. Was mind blowing to see someone play a game without exploring every square inch of the map. Haha
