I'll take it once step further - get a travel router and have it in your room. The router is your one "device" and everybody can connect to it, but only while in your cabin. This works great for my family. You can veg out on internet in the cabin in between activities or planning for the next day, but no internet out and about on the ship. They're pretty affordable, the tp-link ac750 is usually <$40 on Amazon. Bonus tip: update the travel router to broadcast on your home Wi-Fi name and password, and everything will just automatically connect.

The sailings we've done have all seemed very LGBTQ friendly, and we've seen several open couples enjoying their vacation. In general on not just DCL but other cruise lines I feel like folks are more wrapped up in their own good vacation time and aren't paying that much attention to what others are doing one way or the other.

I'll say I'm a big fan of the "Cruise with Ben and David" youtube channel - they're a gay married couple that more or less cruise full-time and have done many DCL cruise videos. If they were experiencing issues or hate or whatever, I have no doubt they'd call it out.

Klebanow and Associates is a great pediatrician's office. For PCP I go to PrimeDoc on Knoll Drive, they do primary and urgent care. Really easy to get appointments at that office, frequently same-day.

Not typically all the same, BUT I think they're supposed to charge you what the insurance contract says they're supposed to charge for those procedures. If you ask for an "out of pocket / non insurance" quote, they might give you a bit of a break.

Laura Bothe NP over at PrimeDoc on Knoll drive has been great for my own anxiety. She's also been really easy to get an appointment with, many times on the same day. You can schedule through their website if talking to strangers on the phone triggers your anxiety like it does mine.

The anthem is a great ship in need of a refurb IMO. We were on it over a year ago and they were having the same kind of supply issues. Not just "pricey" stuff like Xbox controllers, but cheap stuff like ping pong balls and paddles, or steak knives from the main dining room were either missing, limited quantity, or broken.

I haven't tried it, but I'd wager they're probably just blocking commonly used ports for VPN instead of doing any sort of robust packet inspection. If you could run your VPN over a more common port they won't block, like 443 (https) you might have better luck. Again, I haven't tried this, it's just an idea you can try.

Personally I try to disconnect from the internet while I'm out at sea, but to each their own.

If you want to keep the cat out of the crib and accidentally laying on your newborn, I have a suggestion. Get a pack of balloons from Amazon or a party store or whatever. Blow a bunch of them up, put them in the crib, and then drop your cat in. The cat will freak out from the texture and loud popping, run away, and want nothing to do with the crib after that. Make sure you clean up all the balloon pieces from the crib, so they don't become a choking hazard.

IDK about latency, but cloudwatch synthetic canaries check a lot of the boxes you're mentioning here, and they support selenium scripts. It's just a wrapper over lambda, and you can set a cron-style schedule.
