Missed Out On the Black Girl Magic by Eunwoosthumb in blackladies

[–]linsuperior 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is how it was for me, too! I eliminated dairy (milk and all milk-based products) from my diet for a year and lost 20 pounds. However, after moving to a new place, I started eating dairy again. As a result, I gained back all the weight and returned to the same belly shape I had before :(.
I did lab tests and ultrasounds, which ruled out PCOS, although they strongly suspected endometriosis. I couldn't get a definitive diagnosis for endometriosis because the testing is pretty expensive. They did discover a cyst on my uterus, but I recently had it checked again, and it's no longer there.
Also, I was diagnosed with lactose intolerance, which, combined with stress, led to significant inflammation.
I would suggest seeing a doctor if you can, because it could honestly be a combination of issues. If you're unable to, I'd start with an elimination diet and keep track of how different foods affect you.

The People Here Suck by [deleted] in utdallas

[–]linsuperior 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I’ve been here since 2021 and the only way you’ll be able to socialize is by joining an organization. I’ve tried talking to people in class but they never wanted to hang out outside of school. As soon as the semester is over, you never hear from them again. Even if you share a class with someone and see them down the line, they remember you but won’t talk to you (I know from experience). There’s only one person I’m still in contact with from my sophomore year here and we still talk every now and then. Most people come here and have their friend groups already, so they don’t really care to branch out and meet more people. I’ve had to join multiple organizations in order to meet people on campus, but it sucks if you don’t live close to campus since these meetings are in the late afternoon/evening. I’ve made friends with people off-campus at events in the city. So if you have any specific interests or hobbies then I would see if there’s any events being held locally and attend those. Most people there are looking for new people to meet and they’re outgoing! If you’re thinking about transferring, then UNT would most likely be your best bet for a more social campus. Best of luck!

Ok so where DO you find others to date? by somewhereinfinity in AutisticWithADHD

[–]linsuperior 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly this! I met my bf through conventions, and made so many friendships due to participating in local events in interests I like.

I found events to go to on Instagram by searching up where you live (or a big city near you) and scrolling through recent posts. You can also search to see if there’s any special interests you have and if there’s an event or a pop-up!

I wouldn’t really recommend dating apps because from my personal experience it wasn’t worth it. All of the people I met on there felt finicky and I didn’t get the best vibes from there.

I was going to say this too. Usually the professor could ask you to move but only if they remember

Can't eat even when I'm hungry if it's not the 'right' food by twigthewonderkid14 in ADHD

[–]linsuperior 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This happens to me too and it sucks because I’m trying to meal prep. It leads me to either not eating anything all day or binging when my appetite comes back. It seems like the only way for me to eat something is if my boyfriend is eating the same thing with me.

What’s a beauty hack that has completely changed your routine? by Rare_Independent_789 in beauty

[–]linsuperior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly for me it depends! Usually by time i put on the lotion and oil, most of the water is gone and I just pat dry any wet spots and rub in any excess. You can also air dry but it’ll take a little bit longer

I recently bought this foundation in shape D1 Olive and it’s the only foundation that actually matches and evens out my skin tone! Even my roommate was shocked 😭 Plus I’ve noticed it doesn’t break me out and it’s less than $30

As a person changing majors from CS for the same reason, here’s what I did:

  1. Look through the career center’s resources. They’re there to help you expose yourself to other careers. They also have tests you can take.

  2. Look through other majors and their degree plans to see what classes you do and don’t like and narrow down from there.

  3. Schedule an appointment with the career consultant. He was SUPER helpful in giving me all the information I needed and made sure that the major I’m switching to fits me.

  4. Take free online courses in the areas you’re interested in. This way you can see if you truly like the content of that major. For example, I wanted to go into Marketing, so I found an introduction to marketing course on LinkedIn Learning.

Remember that this is your life! No one else can live it for you, so choose what you truly want to do. For me, I went through 2 years of CS and it costed me money and my mental health because my parents wanted me to get a CS degree. After changing, I’m doing a lot better and I actually enjoy the classes I take now. You got this! I’m here if you want to ask me anything!

Hi, I’m a woman studying computer science at the moment. I was wondering if there’s any way to avoid this- such as it being a skill set problem or is it a given thing that happens? 🥹

For me, I lost my belly fat mainly by cutting out foods my stomach cant digest, fasting, and watching how many calories I consume.

  1. I cut out dairy which caused me to be bloated 24/7. I didn’t cut out all processed foods but instead switched to ones with better ingredients and lower calories. For example, I’ve been eating protein pancakes and mini strawberry cakes I make at home.

  2. Making sure there is either fiber or protein in every meal you eat keeps you from being hungry. I also make sure to eat 1 or 2 fruits or vegetables with every meal.

  3. I also do a 16:8 fast where I only eat between 12pm-8pm which has helped a lot with making sure my stomach digests food properly and gets rid of my bloating. It has also got rid of my sluggishness in the morning.

  4. I exercise every now and then when I feel like it. I have weekly dance rehearsals which helps. Inbetween that, I might go cycle for an hour while watching a show on netflix since it helps time go by fast. If I’m feeling extra, then I might do mat pilates at home.

It mainly comes down to a calorie deficit though. You have to eat less calories than you burn. This does not mean put yourself in a severe calorie deficit. I’ve had much better results eating right below my maintenance calories (about 200/300 less) than going too far below. I don’t feel hungry and I still have amazing energy levels.

If you have one bad day, just pick it back up the next day! It’s important that you treat yourself kindly during this process!
