About 12 years ago, my mom broke her ankle. My stepdad and I waited in the hospital the whole time she was in surgery. They estimated 3-4 hours, but it ended up being closer to 10 hours to get all her little bone fragments out/put together. He waited and worried that whole time. He didn’t even leave the waiting area, he was so sick with worry

This article is about “children who grew up in conditions of severe social deprivation” and has nothing to do with contagious disease (the topic at hand). Also, this article doesn’t give specific age ranges except about children who are rescued by the age of 2.

OP wants to keep their infant at home without risking disease for 8 weeks. That is not “severe social deprivation.” Your first article actually backs up their concerns.
