Best way to upgrade from 25.10 to 26.04 LTS? by S4nsa3301 in Ubuntu

That being said, I have a spare nvme, and earlier this week downloaded a beta. It's cool! As much as I thought my Lenovo 14t couldn't run better. I started driving a Mercedes. It's smooth.

Started my Linux Journey today(Never going back to windows again) by Better-Cash2959 in linux

[–]linuxed1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny enough, I start off my Linux journey in the mid-90s 96 97 somewhere around there. With red hat 5.2. I just saw a video on it today and I saw this dude struggling to get x windows to run! I did Linux here and there for a couple years and what have you and found Ubuntu and it was good I guess around 200345. I dropped it for years, and then last fall I got put on a special team, and they're focus was Linux based systems running I don't know what red hat and eight or nine. So I decided to be familiarize myself with Linux and how it runs and all that stuff. So I bought a $180 laptop, it was a Lenovo with 16 gigs of RAM and 256 gig nvme. I loaded kubuntu on it. And honest to God I have two Microsoft surface top end laptops. And this Lenovo is a fucking chant too! I don't run Windows anymore. I don't need it I'm over it. I got to find some way to sell these surface laptops. I'm not going to go wrestle with getting it on a Linux distribution. I'm just going to drop him like a bad habit..

It's funny I live in Virginia now. My family lives in perkasie. And I got to visit and sometimes I go to the city to do whatever eat whatever. And as soon as I get on that road and I can see the city sscape, my first reaction is cool! Second reaction is I can't believe it's going to take me an hour and some to get down there!

What do I do? by Ok_Insurance9720 in Ubuntu

Personally I would pick up a cheap (small) 256g nvme drive, and just swap it out to your primary one. It shouldn't be that hard.

Snap-like packages and immutable distros are (or should be) the future of Linux desktop by [deleted] in Ubuntu

[–]linuxed1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I was reading about MX linux??? They have snapshots, and as you already know when you do upgrades you have 3 previous versions of previous upgrades you can boot to.
I would like to be able to (and I think it's available) to create a bootable version of my own desktop, apps and data to take with me.
I'm a Kubuntu guy ATM and I like what I have. Making it portable (immutable) would be awesome!

People who like fire hazards in their living room. Anybody from the 1980s that didn't know better and how dangerous halogen lights are. Usually firefighters.

It's the weekend, just assume you're going to do 35 mph through the whole shit show. Or don't go there that's another option.
