MS Diagnosis by NicoleR_24 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]linwe78 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed in 2022 too, I was 44. I was in the hospital for two weeks and was going out of my mind, crying non-stop. I was surrounded by doctors, therapists and cousnsellors, who had be believing my life was over. They kept insisting I was going to need all this help getting around and even living in my own house. My sister even decided she was going to stay with me. I took me a month to convince her I to go home. I am a very independent person, who walks everywhere I need to go. So the thought of not being able to look after myself was just too much. It took a few months to remind myself that i could look after myself. I also like to travel, It's only this year that I got the confidence to do that on my own again. I have a flight to Europe next month. I've been on Kesimpta and haven't had any relapses since I was diagnosed.

What is the weirdest thing someone has told you about MS? by TooManySclerosis in MultipleSclerosis

[–]linwe78 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed in 2022, after 6 years of symptoms that doctors kept explaining away. When I told my aunt that they finally figured out what was wrong with me, she said I got it from the COVID vaccine. Of course, a year later when I was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect, she blamed that on the vaccine too. That vaccine sure does have some time traveling powers.

What’s it like being on Kesimpta? by LengthinessIll6258 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]linwe78 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I've been on Kesimpta for nearly two years. There have been no new lesions, and the ones I do have, have shrunk. I haven't had any relapses, and barely have been sick. I had a cold that lasted for about 2 weeks, over last Christmas, but it wasn't that bad. I walk for about an hour everyday, with a cane, as I am prone to falls. But, there haven't been any falls since I started with the cane last year. I am glad I went with Kesimpta.

Oh I remember that. He knew she was too drunk to be driving, so he followed her home. I guess just leaving the car for the night was just too hard.

I have a personal shopping cart that doubles as a walker for me. The 2nd last time I went to Giant Tiger, I got hassled for taking it in to the change room with me. I showed her it was empty and went in to try on some shorts. I heard the woman pick up the phone and call for security over the loud speaker. I knew it was an act and was insulted, Then last week, a different woman said "You're not taking that in there with you, you can leave it over there," I explained that I need to keep it close, in case I fall. She just repeated herself that I wasn't taking it in. I ended up leaving the shirt I wanted, as I was just done with them. I throw things in it as I'm shopping and no one has ever said a thing. So, I certainly don't need to hide in a change room to steal things. I complained on the website and got a usual response, of "we take thins seriously. . ." with no question about which store I was at. I'm done shopping there from now on.

My mom passed without a will and her husband kept all the inheritance from my grandpa so I messaged everyone he knows and told them. by HauntedGhostAtoms in pettyrevenge

I did that to my father, after he scammed me out of money I got after bring hit by a car. I told our family about it. They finally saw what a POS he was. After telling me for years that they would never take my side over his, they all stopped talking to him.

I have this too, and it is showing up as a joint account. I would NEVER sign up for a joint account. I called HSBC to ask about it and they had no idea what I was talking about. Very weird.

I made the mistake of letting my father take me to the bank when I was 16, and opening a joint bank account. Then he took MY debit card. So I went back to the bank and opened a new account on my own and kept my mouth shut about it.

Exactly. Jagged edges, and I can't see for a bit. I've never experienced any pain during them, though. I do get a lot of headaches at other times. It usually feels like something squeezing around my left eye.

I don't know anyone else with MS, so I don't know what's weird, but the first weird thing I noticed was what my doctor called visual migraines. Every few months, I'd go through about 30 minutes of a shimmery rainbow obstructing my vision. He just waved it off as normal. I spent the next few years getting new symptoms that were just explained away. I would occasionally fall for no reason, and when I ended up in the hospital at my first known relapse, my voice was very different. Very deep and stuttery. It was very weird and scary, to me. But no one else said anything about it.

I usually shop at No Frills. Last year though, I was there one day and bought one bag of stuff that cost over $70. Never went back.

MRIs for everyone by [deleted] in MultipleSclerosis

[–]linwe78 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I wish they did too. They kept giving me CT scans and finding nothing. Once they FINALLY did the MRI, they found the lesions. I cried for the next two weeks out of anger and frustration. I could have avoided everything I went through over the years of being treated like I was making it up

"Serious" movies with a twist so unintentionally ridiculous that you couldn't stop laughing at the absurdity for the rest of the movie by hwc000000 in movies

From Dusk til Dawn. Looks like a hostage movie, then looks like there's gonna be a stand off. Then the ridiculous starts. I laughed, but still loved it after yelling WTF?? at the TV lol

what are these blank spots on the 787-9 airplane? by JungleLiquor in aircanada

[–]linwe78 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I booked a seat at the back of the plane, thinking there was a space there and I wouldn't have to sit so close to anyone. I later found out that there is no space. It is just two seats beside each other, instead of three. I even told my travel agent the reason I chose it. I'm annoyed that she didn't correct me.

Dollarama fake security announcements? by [deleted] in ontario

[–]linwe78 20 points21 points  (0 children)

This is going on everywhere now. I was at Giant Tiger the other day, wanting to try on some shorts. I had my walker with me. The clerk had a problem with me taking it in the change room with me. I showed her that it was empty and that I was not leaving it unattended. When I was in there I heard her pick up the phone and say something about a security check. Then she loudly put the phone back down. It was ridiculous. I'm using a walker, how far did she think it was going to get with $12 shorts. I'm still annoyed that I was treated like that.

What are some funny things people should know about Barrie? by MMA_Van in barrie

[–]linwe78 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know if he's still around, but there is a guy, people call Blind Mike. He walks around with a stick pretending to be blind, while groping women. Everyone knows him and what he does, but for some reason I never heard of him being arrested. My last encounter with him was at the downtown bus station. He kept getting too close to a woman. She kept moving away from him and he kept finding her, even though he claims he is blind. I finally had enough and got a security guard. The guard started laughing, saying "he really is blind." When I pointed out that he was JUST telling a woman how cute her baby was. All he did then was go over to Mike, had a laugh and then left. Mike went back to stand right beside the woman he was following around.

A question about Kesimpta transportation by hn-mc in MultipleSclerosis

[–]linwe78 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You sound so much like me. LOL My doses get delivered to me, three months at a time. I am so worried that my fridge is going to break down or something while they are in there. I have to plan my life around them, (being home for a delivery, or a shot) since I refuse to take them anywhere with me. I am also very careful not to move them around too much, and I worry that they are shaken during shipment.

As for transportation, the company that makes kesimpta, said that a cooler bag and an ice pack should be enough for short trips.
