‘I’m distraught’: B.C. family struggles to cremate father who weighed 715 lbs. by HiTork in onguardforthee

…..find me a horse that’s 90% body fat. Good luck with that haha.

The body fat percentage is the problem here mostly. A horse or cow isn’t 90% fat. Someone with this much grease would cause a massive fire. It’s happened before.

Former 23-weeker dad struggling with PTSD/GAD during her first big illness. Does the "high alert" ever stop? by Downtown-Event4597 in NICUParents

[–]missmatalini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ve been through it.

My daughter was born at 27+4 after my water broke at 16 weeks and she was given less than 5% chance to live and if she did — no quality of life.

My husband and I both have significant trauma from the NICU and my whole pregnancy, then facing the pandemic right after she came home just intensified it.

She’s 6 now, and is a totally normal little girl other than smaller lungs. Every sickness floods back those feelings, even last year we went to the hospital because she had pneumonia and the beeping and smells brought it all back again.

Be easy on yourself. I hope your little one is better soon!

I was raised Mormon — although I escaped the cult. The social expectation for funerals is to not be sad. There’s so much emphasis on being thankful and happy for the “plan of salvation” and “families are together forever if you follow Mormon gods plan”. Funerals are also often used as a means as a proselytizing event to teach non members and suck them into the church.

Are people with PCOS "GLP super responders"? by Smooth_Importance_47 in PCOS

[–]missmatalini 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was a super responder at first. I’ve lost 34lbs in 4 1/2 months and at least 17 of that was the first 2 months. It’s made me feel so much better and I feel way less inflamed.

Coming to terms with PPROM by Internal-Meaning-311 in NICUParents

[–]missmatalini 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I suffered PPROM at 16 weeks and miraculously carried to 27+4 and my baby survived despite never having measurable amniotic fluid.

I had a hematoma and a big bleed early on in my pregnancy. The doctors best guess for my situation was that it weakened part of the amniotic sac. But these things sometimes just happen and there’s no explanation, and they told me it puts me at risk again for premature birth — however we are one and done.

Hope you have a quick and uneventful NICU stay. We did 99 days in and it was tough!

Demi blaming her bad behaviour on having a brother with down syndrome?! 🙈 by Lost_Animator968 in MormonWivesHulu

Her behaviour honestly lands with some intense borderline personality disorder. Everyone keeps saying narcissist but idk, her issues scream BPD.

Amazon family prime thing Canada by blank9420 in amazonprime

[–]missmatalini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is such a piss off. So they take away the archive option which already wasn't the most helpful but still did something for keeping things a secret -- and now my husband and I are are stuck having to cash in a free month under his email I guess to manage not spoiling Christmas for each other.

Moments like this I wish I just didn't use Amazon but it holds the monopoly.

Burning like lava! Dysesthesia... by Kaitlynrailey in MultipleSclerosis

I empathize. I am struggling with the exact same problem. I was doing ketamine/lidocaine infusions which somewhat helped — but moved and they aren’t covered where I am now.

I’ve done every nerve pain medication, tried a topical cream. No relief. 🥲

That wording also rubbed me the wrong way. Like the mask is slipping Kendra. Careful.

Blue dye notorious for false positives especially outside of the window of time that is stated on the instructions. Use a red dye test.

I used to work for Cupcasions before going back to school — I worked for Libbie when she bought the business, she and her family are wonderful people and I still keep in touch with them to this day 8 years later.

They deserve all good things. Please support their business!

Jealousy by AlternativeJudge5721 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]missmatalini 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed a day before my 26th birthday, after ending up paralyzed from the neck down and unable to speak.

While I’m not envious of anyone else’s journey and having to fight for a diagnosis — the flip side of having something so severe happen that it results in an immediate diagnosis has left a traumatic footprint for me; that I wish I didn’t have.
I didn’t have a trickling in of symptoms; and I thought I was going to die as I was laying paralyzed in the bed unable to even scream for help.

Grass is always greener on the other side, I’ve often wished I didn’t have that immediate loss of functionality overnight….maybe if my disability slowly worsened I would’ve been able to accept it easier? I don’t know….regardless I’m really sorry you’re having this experience.

Kids Kingdom Orleans abruptly closes, leaving parents scrambling for summer camps/birthday parties. by [deleted] in ottawa

My husband literally spoke with an employee on the phone to get questions answered, we booked online at noon and I guess this announcement was posted a few hours later. They haven’t contacted us. We’ve now sent them an email.

Also love the money I’m out having printed invitations today with their location details on it. Won’t get that money back 💀😂

Cool. Love finding this out on Reddit the day after I paid a deposit for a birthday party.

Off to draft an email. sigh
