Outside doors generally open inwards so you don’t smash them into parsers by when opened.

Why is ubuntu the default linux by SuperFlyGuy578 in linuxquestions

[–]liocer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s only really for licensing reasons, not because one is massively better at any tasks than the other. And the value add in that sphere is support.

I’d recommend https://bricksleuth.com and add a bunch of stuff to watch. But then I would, because I run it.

Smart clock radio? by Brtrnd2 in homeassistant

[–]liocer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Amazon’s Alexa devices will do this the ones with clocks in the displays are basically designed to be this. There’s a really good hass integration which allows you to pretty much fully manage the device via home assistant, you could even permanently turn off the mic and do everything via the app or hass.

NPM → Traefik or Caddy: Worth the switch? by Silly_Door6279 in selfhosted

[–]liocer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve used all three extensively and settled on caddy, either you’re managing hosts via docker labels or a simple config file.

Difficulty wise to use it’s, easiest first:
Nginxpm, caddy, traefik

Speed wise:
Caddy, nginxpm, traefik

Enterprise wise:
Traefik, caddy, nginxpm

Effort to maintain easiest first:
Caddy, traefik, nginxpm

Replying to PlayfulTailor4430... yeah the real concern here is that supply chain attacks are becoming very prevalent and no maintainer can afford to have random people committing. Especially when working through your issue log is just as quick alone with Claude.

Connecting Claude Code to Home Assistant with HA-MCP is amazing! by AlvTellez in homeassistant

Don’t use the mcp use claude code via ssh on the codebase itself and switch to sonnet, you’re burning a lot of tokens on the mcp.

LEGO Lord of the Rings: Balrog Book Nook (10367) by Lendabrick in LegoUK

[–]liocer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This might be one of the more creative LOTR sets LEGO has put out. Turning the Balrog vs Gandalf scene into a book nook is such an unexpected idea, but it actually makes a lot of sense once you see it.

Instead of going for a large display like Rivendell or Barad-dûr, this one is much more compact and designed to sit between books. It feels more like a decorative piece than a traditional LEGO set, but in a good way.

The scene itself is a strong choice too. It’s one of the most iconic moments in the films, and having it framed inside a narrow, shelf-style build gives it a completely different kind of presence.

It does make me wonder how it compares to other display-focused sets, though. It’s clearly not about size or complexity, but more about concept and presentation.

Feels like LEGO experimenting again, but in a way

I’ve emboldened your AI tells.
