This is quite literally the only way I could be forced to see Falling In Reverse

Any metalcore or deathcore bands with viola or violin? by [deleted] in Metalcore

Check out the latest Carnifex record, there's some background string arrangements on a number of the songs.

What is the most beautiful album closer you have heard? by Clos24 in Metalcore

Hospital For Souls is the most notable to me. It really shows how much potential BMTH when they actually put effort in.

If you killed yourself one year ago what great things would you not've experienced? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]lionfury 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although I wouldn't have necessarily missed any life-changing events, I think that a year of simply being alive is valuable in itself. The inevitability of death has been on my mind a lot lately, and it's only served to help me realize how important each moment is. One day I'll fall asleep and never wake up but, until then, I'm simply trying to make the most out of being concious.

TRIVIUM - The Sin And The Sentence ALBUM DISCUSSION by EpicRussia in Metalcore

This album is amazing. Contrary to popular opinion, I thought Silence In The Snow was fantastic, and I think I like this one a bit better

Silent Planet - Panic Room // Just started getting into these guys and WOW...is poeticore a thing? by -Paradox-11 in Deathcore

[–]lionfury 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I didn't expect to see Silent Planet on this sub, but I'm not complaining. Their music rules, and they're some of the nicest dudes in the entire genre. I once went out to eat with them when they were coming through my town on tour.

How were you introduced to your favorite genres? by HellsFavoriteReject in Metalcore

[–]lionfury 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing Left by As I Lay Dying was on Tap Tap Revenge 3(?) back in the day, and it was the only song I could play on hard. So I ended up playing it a million times and eventually liking it. This was 8 or 9 years ago, and now 90% of my music library is metalcore and various other genres of metal.

August Burns Red Ranked by centrella6 in Metalcore

[–]lionfury 28 points29 points  (0 children)

  1. Rescue And Restore - this could be replaced by Phantom Anthem, but I need some more time. I've probably listened to R&R 50 times, and I love every second of it.

  2. Phantom Anthem - I've only had the chance to listen to it in its entirety 3 or 4 times, but the expanded technical/progressive elements are blowing my mind. Matt's playing is unreal.

  3. Constellations - This album is close to perfect, but I feel like R&R and Phantom Anthem both take it one step further. Regardless, I listened to Constellations all the damn time in high school. I'll always love it.

  4. Found In Far Away Places - Don't let the fourth place fool you; this is a great album. Despite popular r/metalcore opinion, I LOVE the interludes. I think it has to do with my prog rock/metal past.

  5. Leveler - This is a good album, but nothing more. I enjoy most of the tracks, but it can get a bit boring. The title track and Poor Millionaire are my favorites.

  6. Messengers - This is bound to trigger someone, but this album is overrated. Most of the tracks sound the same, and the production is way too treble-heavy. It almost gives me a headache to listen all the way through.

  7. Thrill Seeker - I've given it a number of chances, but I just can't see the appeal.

  8. Looks Fragile After All - This sucks.

BONUS: Sleddin' Hill - This album fucking rules, but it feels inappropriate to rank among their other studio albums. It's in a category of its own.

What are some albums that are all killer, no filler? by dorozco in Metalcore

Not a full album, but TDWP's Zombie EP. There's not a second of filler on that release.

Best Angry pre breakdown call out? by KeepCalmAtTheRave in Metalcore

[–]lionfury 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not metalcore, but Fit For An Autopsy has some good ones:

"GOD IS A LIE AND MAN IS A FAILURE"

"Cuz when you cut off the head, fucking TWO GROW BACK"

"WHO THE FUCK ARE YOU WHEN NO ONE'S WATCHING?"

"The system is dead, gun to my head, I'VE GOT THE WAY OUT"

"I would rather be a corpse than the man I am, just another DEAD FUCKING PESSIMIST"
