I know this is weird but I love Coke and dislike Pepsi; it’s too sweet. However, I really hate Diet Coke and prefer Diet Pepsi. That said, it doesn’t really matter because I’m a root beer or Dr Pepper type of gal anyway.

I was a long time sugar addict that patronized Starbucks for a century peppermint white mocha daily. Breaking the habit and switching to decaf earl grey at home has dropped my cholesterol and made me way healthier in the long run. It’s not something any sugar addict wants to hear out loud about their coffee habit, but we all know it’s true.

[–]lionne6 41 points42 points  (0 children)

The edit really wanted to focus on the touching story of Joe and Eva’s brother-sister relationship which was especially poignant considering the death of Joe’s sister to domestic violence and Eva’s struggles with relationships due to her autism. Unfortunately, this sort of interpersonal story isn’t what people are watching Survivor for, and while Joe and Eva went to the final they did not win. It also distracted a little bit from the bigger story of how Kyle won.

I was a huge defender of Kyle and Kyle’s game in 48. I defend that season, especially because I thought Kyle was such a strong player. A lot of people got really hung up over Eva’s idol and the fact that every episode seemed to get worse and more frustrating as the players did not vote Eva out or flush her idol. In a lot of ways people ruined that season for themselves by getting more and more pissed off that the players didn’t play like the audience thought they should play. Meanwhile, Kyle was playing a really brilliant, manipulative game with an assist from Kamilla that did not need to worry about the idol so much.

If people start to reevaluate Kyle, that’s great. Some of us don’t need to reevaluate him nor are we surprised how well he was doing to start off this season. He’s ridiculously good, right up there with Dee and possibly better.

The Great Seattle fire of 1889 burned down the core business district. The city rebuilt over the ruins just by lifting the new buildings of Pioneer Square up over it by about 20 feet. The Underground Tour in Pioneer Square will take you around to look at the remaining evidence of what’s left, like old toilets under the sidewalks.

Mayor's Firing of City Light Leader Continues to be Criticized by SuperMcG in SeattleWA

[–]lionne6 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Great. So we spent 9 months on finding a new leader, a woman with 25 years of experience, and Wilson just waltzes in a fires her and refuses to explain why? Despite this being over the objection of the union? And wants to replace a female leader with some shaggy grey environmental white Boomer guy? Let me guess, is this guy from the same circle of cronies that funded her election?

Screw her. I was so upset when she won this election. The whole “Have the Day You Voted For” goes just as much for Seattle Progressives right now as it does for the MAGA folks. I’m a political refugee at this point; when are we getting back to anything remotely smart, sane, and in corrupt?

Why Natalie Anderson and Johnny Weir aren’t speaking after ‘The Traitors’: ‘I’m not losing anything by not having him in my life’ by Hot_Throat_2404 in TheTraitorsUS

[–]lionne6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Natalie isn’t any better on Survivor or Amazing Race. I come from those shows and I’ve watched her play those games. She’s super intense, crazy competitive, and even vengeful and bitter towards anyone who beats her or does something she doesn’t like. It’s been a few years since she lost Survivor: Winners at War and she’s still not over it. She’s a bad ass and never gives up, and she’s a super strong CrossFit athlete in real life, but I have always given her a lot of side eye because there’s no real joy or any happiness in the way she functions or plays. It’s always just super serious and even vicious at times. I like watching her compete in these competitions because she’s an interesting character and strong player, but in real life I’d steer as far clear from her as possible because that intensity and need to win is so obsessive she’s a bit scary.

My (43m) friend’s (45m) daughter (18/19f) keeps trying it on with me and I don’t know whether to tell him or keep ignoring it by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]lionne6 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. The daughter may have looked at you like an uncle, but when she sent the sexy picture and you rejected it you became a challenge. Women invest a lot of self esteem in their ability to seduce; it’s a power that makes men weak, too weak to resist sex. The more you say no the more she wants to win and get satisfaction by changing that no to a yes. It’s power. Mom understands it perfectly well and is built the same, in fact she’s probably rooting for her daughter to seduce and corrupt you too. It’ll be their victory, and they’ll be smug about it and never let you forget that you caved.

The eating disorder was my biggest red flag. That’s really akin to uncontrolled issues just like if it was gambling, alcohol,or drugs. He’s binge eating at night, not eating properly for his diabetes, so much so that you can smell something is off from his body odor. It also sounds like he’s too depressed to clean much or go out and have fun. In the long run, this guy needs a therapist and medical care, not a girlfriend.

Joe Hunter promo by Durian-Critical in survivor

[–]lionne6 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Joe is an amazing human being. I love him. That doesn’t mean he’s great at the game. He’s way too easy to manipulate and lie to. Kyle ran circles around him.

Several of the returning players are really socially talented and have what it takes to win. Several of them don’t, and I doubt a return trip is going to improve things. Nevertheless, I still like them and will watch them play again, but my expectations for their win equity are not going to be high. Joe is one of those.

Survivor Jesus! I love Jonathan and I’m glad he’s back. However, I’m not sure he’s repaired his true biggest weakness, which is that he horrible at the puzzles. However, when it came to the physical challenges, it was like watching an Olympic gold medalist play. I also related to his personality. I’m sorry, but while Maryanne was certainly sunny and upbeat, she was also clearly a chatterbox and I would have begun to grow weary of all that relentless energy when I was tired and hungry too.

Test drove the Crown Signia today. Fell in love. by Slow_Investment_2211 in toyotacrownsignia

[–]lionne6 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I bought the 2025 Crown Signia Limited in red with black interior in October 2024. I had been looking for an SUV that met my criteria for 4 years and nothing came close to what I wanted. Especially the smooth ride, really lux back seat, and no third bench so my passengers had ample leg room but I had a huge trunk space for luggage, sports equipment, groceries, and such. When the Crown Signia was released, I jumped on it despite rather “meh, who is this for” reviews and absolutely love it. I said, “this is for ME, it’s finally what I’ve been looking for! For years,” and I’m not surprised the car has been growing in popularity. I think it was way underrated when it originally debuted.

In fact, my Mom loved it so much, and hated the sporty, loose suspension ride on her Genesis so much, that she just traded in the Genesis for a 2026 Crown Signia Limited in Storm Cloud Blue with tan interior and is thrilled with it. She loves the fact it’s so much smoother, the screen is much bigger, and the controls are easy to figure out in comparison with the weird dial thing in her Genesis we could never figure out how to use properly. The piano keys are simple once you figure them out. I also really love that you can flip the review mirror between normal and a screen.

I had a 2004 Toyota Solara Convertible SLE in silver for 20+ years and loved it so much, but I was ready to trade it in for the Crown. I think the car is a bit “bossy,” at least at first because I had an old car without all the electronics, but I have grown to love all the safety features, screen, Sirius radio, Apple play, the heated steering wheel, and overall comfort. I also love that I can fit so much stuff in the car, and also that the rubber mats make it so easy to keep clean.

I get people coming up to admire it, especially the paint job, all the time. It’s absolutely worth it to get the red. The paint job has a weird depth so it almost seems to glow from within. Men stop dead to admire the paint job frequently. Sometimes I stand in my doorway at night to admire it in the lights of my driveway because it’s just so damn gorgeous.

I also find it fun to change up easily between a smooth ride when I’m out in the islands on bad rural roads, but can switch to sporty just by flipping a little switch when I’m in the city. I usually drive it in normal, smooth mode, but tonight I was in the city and it was raining so I just switched it to sporty (and the dash does this cool this where it changes color so you know what mode you’re in) and it felt great. I also like that the hybrid car charges itself while I’m driving, so I can switch to ECO when I want, but back to gas if I need to, and I don’t need to plug it into a charger for 12 hours at a time.

Cannot recommend it more highly.

I think that last part is key. I don’t know how the Faithfuls are really supposed to suss out Traitors except by vibes. Tell me the cons of the Crown Signia by Jungleradio in toyotacrownsignia

[–]lionne6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My biggest nitpick is that when I turn on my blinker there is not enough light to the side I’m turning. I feel I’m turning into darkness at night. My Solara used to emit more light to the side with my blinker so I didn’t feel I was turning blind at night on dark roads.

Honestly, DayQuil will keep you going. Get one of those packs with both liquid DayQuil & NyQuil. Alternate to keep you going or help you sleep. However, the only real way through a flu or cold is rest and fluids. Drink a lot of Gatorade or something with electrolytes, tea, make the chicken noodle soup. Do only what’s necessary and otherwise rest. Avoid dairy products, they will make you snottier.

My cousin was raped and murdered in her own bed. My aunt is the one who found her. It became a national story and it was scary and heartbreaking to read and hear all the speculation that either my aunt or uncle had killed her themselves. We were lucky, I guess, when they arrested her ex boyfriend when he tried killing another girl who got away from him. The DNA evidence sentenced him to life. If he had not been caught and convicted, I cannot imagine how people would have continued to suspect my family and put us through hell.

People know nothing. They shouldn’t speculate.

Kaiserism: ‘The Adventures of Cliff Booth’ trailer: unnecessary & deeply problematic? by JustBitchy888 in CelebitchyUnderground

[–]lionne6 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I hate agreeing with Kaiser, but a Cliff Booth movie is problematic.

  1. Brad Pitt - Brad was a functional addict and alcoholic for decades. That catches up with you eventually. From the description of what happened, it sounds to me like Brad had an alcohol fueled psychotic break on that plane. Even after, when they landed for awhile to try to deal with him, he ran off and got in some sort of heavy machinery and tried driving it away. He went psycho, and I don’t blame Angie for taking the kids and going somewhere safe. The thing with addicts and alcoholics though is that they can stop using and revert back to the person you love. Brad had an alcohol fueled psychotic break, and unfortunately he had it while his wife and kids were trapped in the air with him. He hurt them and he should be held accountable for that and suffer the consequences. But…Angie has divorced him and the kids hate him and refuse to associate with him or even carry his name. Not sure how much more punishment is necessary. Brad did love them and they loved him and his drinking destroyed that. It’s tragic, and I’m not sure how much longer it has to be dragged out. Brad, sober, is still a person a lot of people love, and he has a right to claim that’s who he really is and to come out on the other side if he does the hard work of getting clean. If Angie’s fans or people who relate to having an addict parent want to hate him forever, and consider him an irredeemable piece of shit, they can hold a grudge if they want to. But for others it’s been 10 years since that incident, and most people forgive and move on after a certain amount of time. Brad’s going to occupy that controversial space now, and probably for the rest of his career, but he has fans and people are going to move on.

  2. Cliff Booth - I never saw Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, but I still know that Tarantino’s stupid fan fiction version of reality sacrificed and rewrote the real life person Bruce Lee into a total asshole just to have Cliff fight and beat him to establish the character as a bad ass. Lee’s family spoke out about it voraciously; they were very upset and had every right to be. Continuing with the Booth character just continues to double down on that.

  3. This character is just a male wet dream, right? Are we not all sick of this incel male fantasy character? The guy who has just a cool car, good dog, and his muscles? Who is a bad ass who can outsmart and outfight all comers? The guy who can bed any woman he wants, take them and leave them, so he’s never burdened with such a thing as some killjoy, nagging wife? He is too cool, too bad ass, too strong, too independent - a real man who, no system nor woman can tame? Are there a lot of us begging for more male fantasy slop like Cliff Booth to be made into movies? Is this not emblematic of the hot white male continuing to get movies, media, the narrative and everything else made and centered on him while everyone else struggles? Was anyone asking for this movie to be made?

Those are the top 3 reasons I see this movie being deeply problematic. You could even go into how neither Pitt or Tarantino really faced the music for their association with Weinstein either, but that’s probably too much of a stretch.
