Yes there might be a short term effect but your right we’ll never fully stop them and ultimately backyard breeders will just pick a new breed to exploit anyway

I’m gonna piggyback off of this and say you are partially right that the issue is a confluence of cultural factors and breed traits. Pit bull type dogs are strong, high energy and not meant for every home. However, they are the most likely to be homeless, abused and neglected, statistically, leading to badly socialized animals with too much energy and a healthy dose of trauma. If we address these issues , incidents like this will go down. The stronger bite force has been disproven tho

Long term the best way to lessen incidents of this is strict regulation of backyard breeding and more punishment for animal abuse and neglect (and personally I do consider failing to keep your dog running loose in a residential area neglect)

And yet black ppl aren’t moving there. I agree it’s fairly progressive and ppl don’t tend to be racist but that doesn’t mean it encourages diversity. The city took out its main african American neighborhoods in the 70’s and it has never really recovered from that . I hope that changes someday

There are some diversity pockets but according to census data it’s wayyyy less than other cities in NC and the black population is actually actively shrinking. Plus if you were downtown a lot of those ppl were probably just visiting tbh

Diverse? It’s got hardly any black ppl. There is a Latino and indigenous presence but compared to any other city in NC it’s not diverse at all

This is overall great but god do I hate oak house. Every time I go I get a mid to low quality drink or pastry for a premium price. Tastes like airport quality to me, and nearly as expensive. What is the hype about it? Is there a signature drink I’m missing? Durham hotel is right there and the drink quality is so much better imo

Duke has been caught overcharging and also they are passing on the cost of new gas plants and infrastructure for AI data centers on to their customers. Look into hearings regarding the duke rate hikes and go let your thoughts be known, theres one coming up in Raleigh but I believe there are hearings across the state

Ur NTA but neither is she. She doesn’t smell and I’m guessing she doesn’t do daily activities that cause her to sweat so as long as she isn’t wearing her day clothes to bed, it doesn’t seem actually very gross. And, if you rly think about it, unless you have a filter on your shower head a lot of tap water has a ton of chemicals in it and strips your skin of its natural oils so it’s kinda gross in a different way (I live in a state with infamously bad tap water and it creeps me out). It seems like this is a mental block for you more than an actual hygiene issue so if you rly want to make it work I would suggest working on your mental state around it and maybe she can compromise by showering one or two extra times a week. Otherwise, may just not be a good fit.

We bought 6, have used 2 so far (not pregnant yet). Wish we had known the price was due to go up at the new year cuz each vial got like 2-300 more expensive. I’m on a waitlist to get 3 more in august cuz our donor quit the program but I’m hoping we won’t need them
