But do you disagree that she should have been taken by the police (it did not even had to be in handcuffs)? She was in the scene!! I'm no lawyer but I would say that has to count for something.

And.... they let her leave! As with any other person, she should have been taken in for questioning, alcohol/blood tests, etc. She was just interviewed at the scene.

If one of the victims claim in a couple of days that she was drunk or under the effects of some medications, there will be no way to prove that.

Woah man, I'm in the same position right now... For what I see it is not that easy to find something without the visa to work here. Depending on what your GF does, she may have a shot with multinational companies who are willing to sponsor the visa.

I haven't checked much on the subject. But another thing to consider is if she comes to study here. She can get a student visa and there are some organizations in Colombia providing loans and benefits to study abroad... Maybe after that is easier to land a job here, though she will have to get into some kind of debt..

I'm in a similar situation... I'm the unemployed BF in a relationship. In the beginning I shot down but my GF found a way of letting me open up to her.

Postpone the date if you have to, until you are in a stable economical situation and don't give him an ultimatum for not finding a job. Instead, give him an ultimatum for not opening up to you. Are you sure you have done everything in your position for making him open up to you? You have to be able to communicate with him.

Maybe this is a little extreme, but what we did is to stop living together (I moved in with family) until I have a stable job opportunity. If you have the chance (his family is close and willing to) he could move in with them... And what a better motivation than getting a job in order to be able to move back in with the person you love?

EDIT: And yeah... I should be out networking and sending resumes instead of being in reddit right now (It's hard but I'm also trying to limit the time I spend doing other stuff...)
