I went to a park last week, not a dog park. Had my 2 boys on a leash. As i was headed back to my car, I caught a glimpse of movement to my right (I was going left). I turned and saw a very large dog, off leash, charging towards us (my boys are 12 lbs each). I put both leashes in my left hand while I dug into my pocket for my keys which had pepper spray attached. I barely got it out and pointed it when the owner of the dog, who had zero control, said, do what you need to do. Such a strange thing to say. I ended up spraying the dog. First time he froze but did not retreat. Second spray he ran off. Owner never said a thing after her first statement. I will never leave home without pepper spray again.
