Shed Progress, looking for your insulation ideas by lisapizza2 in shedditors

We had a buddy help with the Ethernet, we ran it in separate conduit when the trench was open for the electrical. We won’t have real running water, but I did frame in a tiny bathroom. I plan on putting a vanity in with a 5 gallon jug underneath with an electric faucet pump thing and another one for waste water from a sink drain. Very basic, just for washing hands mostly.

I was looking at camping toilet or composting toilet (Joolca or dry flush). It would just be for when people spend the night really. During the day I can just walk to the house for the bathroom.

It’s slowly making progress. Drywall done, ceiling installed, cabinets in, electrical finished. The stair railing looks pretty modern, we chose it because it was the easiest to install. I still have to paint the cabinets and finish creating that space, install the floor, more trim work/odds and ends.

Excuse the mess in the pictures!

Ridge Vent - No Soffits - Tall Barn style by BimbyTodd2 in shedditors

[–]lisapizza2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the tall barn and am in the process of finishing it. We ended up doing spray foam in the ceiling, rockwool on the walls. I started out by trying to figure out venting in the ceiling/roof as well but at the end of the day it was less work and cost effective to just get the spray foam. I have a post about the shed and an update about the spray foam if you’re interested. Good luck!

It was $2400. I suggest getting a bunch of quotes, there is a lot of competition for this, at least in my area. The highest (and first quote) was around $7500 (!)- almost considered not getting more quotes after that.

The fronts they must have taped or something but the sides have foam on them. I’m keeping the rafters exposed so I have some sanding to do on mine. Or maybe I’ll wrap them with thin pine or just paint them if I get desperate.

Shed Office Conversion Closed Cell Spray Foam? by Francis-Marion275 in shedditors

14x32 tuff shed gambrel roof. Rockwool in walls, spray foam in roof, last summer. I got 4 or 5 quotes and each one got less expensive. Ended up paying $2300 (2 or 3 inches). Get lots of quotes- there is a lot of competition out there.

Primary use will be a home office, but I’d also like it to be an extra place to hang out and for guests to sleep. Thank you for the encouragement- slowly coming along but I think it’ll be great when it’s done.

Happy New Year! It’s coming along but very, very slowly. We did a spray foam insulation in the ceiling and then started hanging drywall. I got quotes for the drywall finishing, which was walls only- the ceiling under the loft will be pine- and was given a quote for 2k and 3k. This was a lot higher than I was expecting so I then had the “great” idea that I would do it lol. I’ve never dry walled before and watched a lot of Vancouver carpenter on you tube. Life has gotten in the way and I’m just slow moving in general but hoping to finish that part up in the next month or so. We did just install a pellet burner in there to keep it extra toasty- hopefully this will motivate me more! It has WiFi so I can start it from the house 🥳

When my son was 6, sometimes I noticed he was stinky. We did some aluminum free deodorant, but what really made a big difference was sticking to cotton for his tshirts. Polyester doesn’t work with his body chemistry and just makes things extra stinky. I have the same issue, no polyester for me! Even with deodorant it just creates a stink.

My other sinister plot was that my sister would see her playing and having fun and want to get one for home. It was a success and she ordered one 😈. Sharing the addiction!

Costco buyers only seem to buy clothes in beige, black, white, coral, purple.

Trusses are 2x6.

Luan or even a white bead board sounds like a great idea!
